a bad night for tv....

oh my god, please tell me someone watched the Bachelor!!! Oh it was so wickedly delicious!!! Can you believe that crap?!?!?! I cannot believe that there are 30 women out there that are so devoid of any common sense that they would go on a show to find the "fairy tale ending" and have Prince Charming with the wads full of cash (and that dimple on his chin that makes me think he is walking backwards with his pants down) ask them to marry him.....Are women out there really that dumb??? I hope they are just trying to get their 15minutes of fame or something rather than think that they can find *sigh* true love!!!!!

My dh saw that I was watching such crapola and said where did my wife go, cuz I know that my wife doesn't watch this sh$t! I told him that at least it was good for a cat fight, cause boy did it get trashy tonight!!!! She accused the other wench of being a slut, the other wench said "at least I didn't take it to another level . Then one walks off and the other turns to the host and says "Dude, she is a b#$ch" and right there, I knew that I had really entered the 3rd ring of hell in television viewing!!!! Score one for masogynistic television producers everywhere!!! Boy, I was sure proud to be a woman after watching that crap!

So then, I flip over to American Idol, and while in my emotional state, I was quite wooed by Fantasia's rendition of whatever song she was singing that was meant to pull at my heart strings, I just couldn't help but scream at the tv "are you D E A F, America?!?!?!?"

I mean, yeah the girl has got a great set of pipes, but she belongs singing gospel at home with her 3 year old daughter, not becoming the next Britney Spears, bubble gum, souless pop singer!!!!! They showed her little daughter in the crowd and I couldn't help but think, "say good bye to your mommy, hunny, you are going to be raised by grandma now while mom goes out and sells her soul to the recording industry to make other fat, old men millions." Oh, then I thought, see what porcelin veneers buys you, the top spot in American Idol, cause lord knows that she never would have won if she still had that horrible smile with all those gaps in between her teeth!

Oh, lord help me!!!

I think I am just a wee bit cranky cuz dr PP's nurse called me today, and I have to go back in tomorrow morning to have MORE blood drawn!!!!! Dammit, will it ever end??? It even has to be a "fasting" blood draw, which means that I will be driving in bumper to bumper traffic for 1 hour without my morning cup of green tea or my morning bagel!!!! It gives new meaning to the term road rage!!!!!

Ok, I feel much better now...*whew*...I just needed a good b&$ch session. I feel much better now!

I am right there with you watching the TV trash get trashier. Haven't watched the bachelor cause I don't have the time. As for American Idol I think they all need a hearing aid. This group was the worst of all three seasons yet they are all blah blah blah about how great this group has been. Yuck!!!

Thankfully, my DH is on the other side of the world working for the next week so he couldn't interupt my fixation on watching all this crap. You vented so eloquently that I will just say DITTO

Ugh - I totally agree!!! What is going on with the world - a two hour season finale for American Idol - for what??? I was feeling really antsy so I kept switching back and forth and it was like watching a car wreck in process with that whole bachelor thing - did you see the montage of him eating?? What a slob!!

:)

Thanks for a little relief from the ttc obsession!

I can't believe America picked her...SHOM-TING instead of SOMETHING...doesn't anyone but me hear that! I don't really watch the bachelor but I did see it last night...I taped it so I could see the cat fights....very entertaining, would never do it and don't know why people do I think it is for their careers in acting????

Well Wednesday night tv is now over and I have to admit that I am an AI fan, although I wasn't too crazy about any of the finalists this year... except maybe LaToya but we all know what happened to her.

I agree that Thursday night TV is going to be much harder to deal with now. I will definately miss Friends & I'm sooooo mad at ER I'm not sure that I'll even watch it next year. Such negative story lines ALL year. They need at least one somewhat happy story line next year or I'm outta here! Last night DH took the remote & we watched "Howard Stern" from Las Vegas & MXE. (MXE is this horrible game show where they dub English over the Japanese announcers & try to make it funny-of course DH loves it & guess that's why it's on "SpikeTV".) When will the new shows start? :(

Oh M Y G O D Ruke!!!!

I thought my house was the only one to watch the MXC show!!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!

I roll my eyes every time that damn show comes on because it is DH AND DD's favorite show!!!! At 4 years old, dd was running around shouting "DON'T GET ELIMINATED!"

Oh wow, too funy!

Oh, and yes, I think my funk today is based upon the deep sense of loss that I am feeling over the Thursday night line up!!!!!!! My dh is always complaining about how I work too much, but he can count on the fact that I would never work late on Thursdays!!!!!

What will we do now that it is gone????? I have to admit last night while I was making weinie wraps fro dd potluck today at school, I was so desperate to watch something that I turned traitor and watched CSI. However, I can guarantee you that no matter how desperate I become for mindless tv, I will never watch those CSI spinoffs!!! The original one is as far as I will go...I would much rather watch Crossing Jordan now that she's back, but *sigh* that is not until Sunday I think.

Oh, and I don't know about you, but now that Alias is in reruns, I don't know what I am going to do doing prime laundry folding time on Sunday nights!!!!!!!!

Maybe I should get out more, watta ya think? ;0)

Nooo Janet! Your family watches that crap too! I'm soooo sorry. Last night one of our dogs even got up & went to the other room. I said you know it's bad tv when the dogs don't even like it. :) But I must admit I like it better than Howard Stern.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's life revolves around TV. On the night of the Friends Finale our softball team was having a meeting at 7. I soooo wanted to skip it & stay home-but I was a good girl & actually went. (Since I'm always complaining to DH that we never go anywhere & that we have no friends I thought I'd better go.) I had to stay up until midnight watching the tape though...

Oh yes, ours is a crap filled home!!!! With both dh and I growing up as latch key kids, tv became our babysitter, best friend, and all over companion. Every once in a while we promise to turn it off and set a good example to dd, but then dh finds some educational thing to watch, and we pat ourselves on the back and say at least it is not crap! But then as soon as there is a commercial, MXC, or Iron Chef, or game show network pops back up on the tv. I just don't know how that happens?!?!?!

Oh and did I tell you that one of Makena's first sounds was "DOH!" after watching Simpsons every night of her 1st year? Yes, sometimes I do think that my parenting priveleges should be revoked, but hey, I was tv junkie when I was a kid, and I turned out ok! Yeah, that is what I have to tell myself so I can sleep at night! LOL!!!!!

Oh, and you want to know what is even worse according to dh??? I watch the OC!!!!!! Yikes, did I just admit that?????? Oh god, it is true, I just can't let go of my teenage angst!!!!

hee, hee!

tootles!
