biopsy take two

I did the 15 days on flagyl and cipro, AF came so I called to schedule the follow-up hysteroscopy and biopsy. It will be on Monday. I'm trying not to worry about the pain, I just hope its not as bad as last time. I know she offered to do anaesthesia, but I'm afraid my insurance wouldn't cover it for a minor procedure. I don't want to have to pay the $500+ for that so I asked her for an alternative. I have to take two valium and two vicodin 30 min before the procedure. When I told my mother she about came unglued! She thinks thats too much sedation. I'm just glad to have a strapping DH who can carry me if I can't walk! :smileyvery-happy:

***Possible TMI***

While I had the nurse on the phone I told her about one of the embarrassing side effects of the antibiotics. They made me go to the bathroom A LOT. And between my pg last summer, all the progesterone I've been on all year....I have bleeding

Oh you poor thing :( I don't have any hemorrhoids but I do (TMI alert) have a problem with it being very hard when I go to the bathroom - like concrete blocks. It rips and tears sometimes and I often deal with bleeding and pain. Stool softeners don't seem to help. I guess I could go to dr for it but frankly, I am pretty over dr's :)

Anyway, I think your regimen before your biopsy should do the trick.

Wow, that does sound like a lot of pain meds. I hope it's not as bad for you this time.

I so hope this appt goes much better for you. I think the sedatives will really help. I get bleeding too cause I am usually constipated so when I do go, it's bad. I feel like i'm gonna rip my butt off when i wipe it hurts so bad. I'm sending good appt vibes, feel them yet??

Chouli,

Just wanted to pop by and tell you that that is the amount of sedation they gave me at the dentist's office (in order to keep me in the chair, lol), so you should be fine... I did have some SERIOUSLY rubbery legs though.

And I'm really sorry about the hemorrhoids... FX that it goes away soon!

2 vicodin + 2 valium = 1 barely tolerable endometrial biopsy. Aparently my cervical stricture that was surgically fixed when I was 14 is back. She couldn't use the biopsy catheter and instead had to MacGuyver it with an insemination catheter. She said she got enough tissue though. She also said that the IVF embryo transfer catheter is small enough not to be a problem, but that when I go to deliever baby(ies) I may not dilate. I'm going to go sleep off this drugged out feeling. Later, ladies.

Glad this time went better and your doc was able to get enough tissue. Ugh to hemorrhoids. I have them as well and have found that increasing my fiber intake and drinking plenty of water really helps.

Ouch! Sounds SO painful! That's good to know that the IVF catheter shouldn't be a problem, though. Good luck!

The RE office called to tell me that the results showed "resolving endometritis". It must have been bad if it is still "resolving". So I've had a low-level infection in my lining since August due to carrying my baby for 4 weeks after he died and bleeding a lot during the D&C. They said the antibiotics worked and that we'll be a go for IVF in the coming months so that's good. I had a few overwhelming moments of "why me?!!? Why can't this be easier? Why can't any of this go smoothly?" So I cried a little, had a pity party, and called my mom. Back on track, looking to the near future with hope.
