I've been thinking about you! How are things going with the FET cycle? When is the transfer date?

You're not going to believe this s#$^. I have another YI. 3 weeks ago I went to my gyno, she did a culture and said it was definitely YI and not BV. She wrote a script for Rx strength treatment. It worked. I was YI-free for 3 weeks. Saturday morning...its back. I feel SO repulsive. I've read up on it and it must be related to the BCP/hormone fluctuations and summer heat. I started Monistat 7 this weekend and will call my gyno in the morning to see if she wants to give me something else. I am so afraid that its just going to come back in a couple weeks when I start up the antibiotics for the FET. I've looked it up and it shouldn't interfere with implantation. This is repulsive and SO unlike me.
But as to your actual question and not my personal rant...I start Lupron on wednesday morning and we are just 5 weeks away from transfer day! 9/29. I want so much to be hopeful. I am going to acupuncture 2x week, eating right, taking all my meds, and trying to keep my spirits up.

(((HUGS))) I hope that the weather turns a little cooler so that you can get past this YI crap. I've been attributing my issues of similar, to the heat and humidity that we've had. Lots of great places for those horrible yeasts to grow! Have you tried Nystatin? I'm not sure what the long-term effectiveness is, but maybe ask if you could apply some at least externally, daily through the rest of this cycle to prevent anything from growing? They gave me Nystatin when I was pg with the baby I lost last summer, so I know it's considered safe during pg. My loss had nothing to do with the Nystatin usage.

Good luck! I hope that you can keep those yeasties away. Another thing that could work to kill them is threading a string through a whole clove of garlic and inserting vaginally. Yeast hates garlic. I would ask if it would interfere with any of your meds, but it might help kill some of those yeasts when you do your antibiotics for the FET? Definitely ask about that or whether taking garlic pills would help to keep the yeast infections at bay, but not interfere with meds. I certainly don't want you to do or take anything that would interfere with meds, but it wouldn't hurt to ask if either of those methods would be OK in conjunction with the meds you would be on.

Can you get the powder OTC? I have the Rx Nystatin ointment, but the powder would be good and drying.

Oh girl - BTDT with the crying thing from the hormones... I'm sorry that this darn YI keeps coming back - its never easy is it? Big hugs - it will pass - I promise. I was a mess right before the transfer and would cry almost daily at what I realize now are silly things, but the hormones just make you so irrational at times. I hated it. But you know, means to an end. To get that beautiful LO in your arms, you have to crawl thru hell to get there unfortunately. You can do this - you are a strong woman Chouli!!! You will get your happy ending - just keep telling yourself that.

Hugs ~

Hey Chouli! I hope you're able to get past the YI quickly! I was wondering if you have ever tried Grapefruit Seed Extract? I rarely get YI's but when I do they seem to be back to back and so after the first one this last time I did GSE and an extra probiotic and I never got the second (they always come in at least pairs) and I've started taking it whenever I'm on antibiotics. I don't know if it would interact with anything you're on but I thought I would throw it out there!

That sucks about the YI. Keep the faith. I have a good friend who got PG on a FET and has a beautiful little girl now. I really hope this works for you and hopefully the FET is easier on your body than a fresh cycle.

How many embies do they thaw for the FET? How many are you planning on putting in? If you want to put in 2 embies, would they thaw out 3 just in case?

I have 6 embies in the freezer, and they're in 3 tubes of 2 each. They're going to thaw one tube and hope both survive. If one dies, they'll thaw another tube, but they will only implant two. My RE said their thaw success and overall FET success is VERY high.

I'm not really sure about Nystatin powder. Can you ask the doctor about it?
