Day 12 Follie check
11
Thu, 01-27-2011 - 8:08pm

I am not overly joyed or overly disappointed with my day 12 follicle check. My lining was good at 8.8. Ok, I may be a little disappointed that I only have one mature follicle (21.5). I do have a smaller one (11.5) which won't catch up. I am use to having at least 2 but I know you can get pregnant with one egg. When I did get pregnant during my first IUI, I only had 1 egg then too. Maybe it is a sign....

Christy,
Good luck with your IUI tomorrow! One good follie is all you need. I'll be thinking of you.

I am totally big fat jealous of your lining and your one follicle. :) Good luck with your IUI. I know you tend to have a hard time with that. I hope it's a piece of cake.

Thanks all. My IUI wasn't that comfortable (it never really is) and I think it was because my bladder was too full. They say to have a full bladder but for me it was so uncomfortable because I couldn't relax because I had to pee so bad. I asked the doctor what the next steps would be if this didn't work. He said try one more IUI cycle with a higher dose of Femara and if that doesn't work consider IVF. I was kinda out of it, but I want to ask why he suggests skipping a hybrid injectable cycle before IVF. I will ask next time if this one doesn't take. I really hope this is all a moot point and I do get PG now. I have no idea how I could afford IVF if it comes down to it. I just hope I get my baby this time or next. Cross fingers...........

Wow! That's POST wash? That's great! We only every got as high as 43 I think. Anyway, I am curious why the RE doesn't want to try injectables cycles also but I have to assume it's because he doesn't want to waste anymore of your time and just wants to go straight to what he knows has the best chance of working.

Yep, 52.6 million post wash. I can't remember what the total count pre-wash was. On the paper it says 118.1 million for concentration and 179.51 million for total motile sperm count. I will ask RE next time (if this one doesn't work) why he suggested IVF after only one round of a higher dose of femara. I think he mentioned that the pregnancy rates are higher which I already knew. We shall see. My due date would have been March 10th and I am hoping to be pregnant before then. Again, we shall see. Fingers crossed for this cycle.
