Was feeling unwell and a little off yesterday, so I decided to call my doctor's office to have them note in my file that I had what appeared to be a strong bfp last cycle that faded over the course of 5 days.

Oh Julia...I hope the beta will be low also. It's pretty easy to find out though. If you're not getting BFP's of any kind on a urine test, it's very unlikely your beta will be elevated. I am FX for you big time.

It can happen...in the case of a corpus luteum cyst but it's very rare. After the egg is released from a follicle it becomes a corpus luteum. It will normally break down and disappear after O but sometimes it doesn't. If it hangs around, it can fill with blood or fluid and become a cyst and does contain some hCG - not always enough to interfere with a HPT but happens in rare cases. But unlike other kinds of cysts, corpus luteum cysts are normally without any pain or symptoms at all over that matter. The only diff between a reg corpus luteum that we all get every month after O and and a corpus luteum cyst is that it doesn't go away when the egg is released as it should. Most of the time, women don't even know they're there until they are found via u/s. It's very common on fertility meds. Sorry, didn't mean to go all Rainman on you LOL

That's good. I hope that the pain is subsiding and that you're back to TTC again really soon! Maybe this is just a little "bump" in the road. I know I had horrible pain that kept us from TTC about 3 years ago (Mother's Day weekend of 2008). I went in for an ultrasound and a CT scan and they could find nothing that was the cause of the pain. So, my guess is it was completely hormonal, which really sucks. I've had a couple of cycles since then that were similar to that, but not anywhere near as painful for as long. Each time, it's cleared up and I always worry when it comes to Oing on my right side whether I'll end up feeling that incredible pain and whether it will last just during O time or for an entire cycle O to O. I hope that you don't get that. But, I also hope that they can give you some other answers. I hope they will do some more ultrasounds and some follicle studies leading up to O to get a better picture of what your body is doing. (((HUGS)))
