HSG test and results

The crying hasn't started yet but, I imagine by bedtime I will have at least once. So I went in for my HSG test this morning. The RE was there to perform it. He couldn't get the dye into my tubes. My fibroid is pretty much blocking them from what he can tell. My uterus is completely outta shape and that isn't helping. He doesn't know if the eggs can get outta the tube.(Or are even getting into the tube on the left side)

Wow, Cat, that stinks. I mean, it's good that he figured out what the problem is, and that he believes he may be able to help you, but surgery is never fun.

I hope everything goes well for you. Please KUP.

(((Cat))) I would be in tears, too. I hope that you can get some better information regarding surgery and chances of conception after surgery. I hope the doctor can give you some good stats on that. (((HUGS)))

Aw, Cat. I am so sorry. I'm glad you and the RE plan on fixing it. But I know this sets you back emotionally. (Hugs) PPTs sent your way.

Cat, I know this is going to sound asinine but hear me out...I know this news blows, big time. But I also sobbed after my HSG results for the exact opposite reason. I was told my uterus and my tubes were 100% clear, perfectly shaped and that I generally had the most perfect reproductive system they had ever seen. Am I bragging? Absolutely not. I am saying that I left there with not a single answer or reason to hope that ANYTHING would be changing soon. The dr says your egg may not even be making it to your tubes and that it's not likely the sperm are able to get where they need to get either BUTTTTTTTTTTTTT they have a plan and can fix this!!! This gives you EVERY reason to hope that things might go as planned after you have this surgery done! There might be a REASON you haven't been able to get pg by now! I have always said that I can live out any prison sentence, as long as I know how long I am in for. As long as I know the light at the end of tunnel DOES exist, I can wait. I don't have a light like that, but YOU DO! :)

Thanks ladies for all the support. I'm glad I have an answer and I hope that is all my problem is. I went for the u/s this morning. I have one follie that is at 17 right now. So I know that I make a follicle each month. I have my MRI Tues the 31st. .We'll schedule the surgery from there. The last thing I want is major surgery during summer but, what can I do? The dr also told me to loose some weight. Gee thanks doc. I snapped back and said, "Don't act like you didn't put on any weight when you were in school." Trust me, I know I could use to loose at least 10-20 lbs. My ideal weight for my body size would be to loose 30 lbs but, that isn't realistic.

I'll keep y'all posted and thanks again for all the support.

Cat

Ugh my RE is forever onto to me about my weight. I explain to them that I am not some woman who has no idea what it takes to get pg. Being overweight effects fertility because it can effect ovulation. I ovulate fine every month. Am I saying I probably don't need to lose some weight? I quite obviously do, but I am also smart enough to know that my extra 20 lbs isn't the reason I'm not getting pregnant.
