HSG update

So, my appt was at 1 pm but they had me wait till almost 3pm, that was the worst part. I kept getting anxious just waiting there. They would not let my DH in the room with me so I was kinda upset. I listened to all your advice and took advil before I went. I only felt a tiny cramp when she first put the catheter in and then nothing, I didn't even know she put the dye in. She had me turn on my sides and that was it. Very quick. She said my tubes are open, no septum and no polyps. My stupid OB on the other hand won't give me any of my blood work results even though I called and emailed him. I'm just worried about the fsh and other hormone levels. Since the HSG I have spotting, she said it would be some old blood and iodine, yuck. When does that stop? Overall, not too bad, now just waiting on my b/w and referral. But my OB moves so slow it will take forever to get one. Thanks for the advice and support!!

I'm glad it went well and everything looks good! I hope that it was all you needed to clear things out and make a "smoother" trip for egg and swimmers! I got pg on the 3rd cycle after my HSG (my little one didn't stick, but it had nothing to do with the HSG). I hope this helps you along! Fingers crossed!

As for the spotting afterward, I spotted for the rest of the day after my HSG and we were able to DTD the next day, but I was still a little tender down there and did have some spotting after DTD.

Jen, that sounds like it really couldn't have gone too much better aside from the time you spent waiting and DH not being able to come with you. I think they let my DH come but every place has different rules. I would call that office every day about your bloodwork. You know what they say about the squeaky wheel and anyone who knows me will tell you that *I* am the sqeaky wheel LOL

I've had two HSGs. The first one, my OB sent me to the hospital imaging center and they did let my DH come with me. Much better experience.
Well, I am glad you got through it and that your anatomy is awesome. Hope you get the bw answers today!

Thanks you are all so great. The doc who did it was kinda weird, but she was quick and efficient so I can't complain.. Now if I could lite a fire under my OB as Cheryl suggested, he's taking his sweet ole time with everything. My endo emails me the day I do b/ w with my results. She was happy with my tsh, came down from 3.9 to 2.7, I'm not convinced thats great, but its better. She wants me to stay on my current dose and go in for b/w in 2 months unless I get pregnant sooner. Now if my OB can just give me the results of all the other million tests I did!!!!

Glad all was well!!! But yes, the iodine can leak for the rest of the day. It should be ok by tomorrow. That darn OB of yours though... he needs a fire under his bum. Ha!

Jen,
I'm glad your test went so well...I'm sorry you had to wait so long, though. I had my HSG a few months ago. I was back to normal (no more spotting/leaking) the next day. I hope your OB gets back to you soon with your bloodwork & referral!

I'm glad the HSG went well for you, and I'm really glad that the findings were unremarkable.

Jen,

I'm glad to hear things went well. Blah on waiting that long, though. Seriously, waiting is the worst. Yay for open tubes and no septum or polyps. That is super fantastic! Yeah, the leaky iodine stuff isn't too much fun. I honestly don't remember spotting afterwards but that was a few years back.
