Hysteroscopy on Aug 3rd

I am not looking forward to August 3rd because that is my hysteroscopy day. When I had IUIs, they were super painful so they are giving me some valium for the appt. I hope that will help me relax a bit. I wish that I was blessed with pain free fertility appts. I better get use to it when we do IVF. I know there will be tons of drugs and shots.

Chouli - Your experience scares me a bit but hopefully I will be too doped on Valium that I will be forced to relax. I wish they would just knock me out because my pain tolerance isn't all that great. Yea, I know....

I have had 2. And I am really sorry to say this but it was awful. My IUIs have been uncomfortable like pap smears, but nothing horrible. The Hysteroscopies were so awful my DH had to tell the RE we will not be doing that again. It hurt and scared me so bad I vomited on the table the first time. There could be 2 reasons why it was so bad for me and may not be bad for you: 1.I had endometritis which would make contact w/ the endometrium painful. 2. I had myself so mentally worked up about how it could be bad.
I will FX for you. Try to relax about it b/c I think that played a major role in my problem.

UGH! Sounds like something that I wouldn't enjoy. As for the pee test, I would ask the same thing because knowing myself, I can't stop it once it's started. Just absolutely not humanly possible for me. So, I would ask if you could come in the day before.

Not sure if it's totally same (I don't think it is - I didn't have to have a full bladder) but I had an HSG and I actually did not find it painful. A little uncomfortable, but not painful. GL. Hope everything turns out ok.

Well, I can tell you that it's worse than IUI's but I have never had a painful IUI so I can't comment much as to that. My IUI's have always been quick and painless, sorry :(
