IUI #3 done - thank goodness

I had my IUI this morning and it went better than the others which I totally liked. It was still very uncomfortable but at least I didn't burst into tears. I think the valum helped calm me down before the procedure and they got it done on the first shot. Last time, they have to put in / take out the speculum 4 times which made things a million times worse.

I was very happy with the post wash sperm count because per doctors orders, we BDed on Wednesday night with IUI on Friday. I was worried his count would be lower because of that. Last time his post wash count was 22 or 24 million (I can't find that paper that states that). His post wash count today was 35.5 million. The interesting thing was his volume was 1.5 ML which is the bottom end of what they like to see. I looked back to his rock star sperm count in June and his volume was 2.1 ML with 92.9 million post wash. I am happy with the 35.5 million because anything over 5 is good.

I really really hope it works this time. I am going to try to stay positive this cycle to see if positive vibes help. I know it is silly but I want to pull out all the stops this month.

karaliemarie:

IUI's are always painful for me and I don't really know why. I am not sure if it is because of a tipped uterus or that I am smaller down there. The last time it was so painful that they kept on taking it out and putting it back in and I was in the doctor's office 2 hours. It kinda feels like they are sticking a knife up there which isn't pleasant to say the least. I do ok with the ultrasound but something about the speculum that my body doesn't like. It doesn't help that I've had bad experiences to make me more tense which you don't need when you should be relaxing. The drugs (valium) helped quite a bit and I was able to endure it and it was over quickly. I wish I was like most of you and the IUIs are a walk in the park. Nothing is every easy for me when TTC. :smileyhappy:
