So I just had my first cycle on Clomid last month and had to go in yesterday for an u/s to make sure my ovaries were alright and I could start the next cycle.

I would ask, but I know that when I went in for a follicle check over a year ago, they told me no lubricants while TTC, but when I asked about their u/s lubricant, they said that that lubricant was ok? Then again, I no longer go to that doctor's office because they were idiots and horribly insensitive and somewhat reckless. So, perhaps you should ask?

The u/s gel the doc uses is fine. I know it's hard not to get obsessed about it but they know you're there for a follicle check, they wouldn't use a gel that was going to be counter productive to a BFP I promise.

PS If I ever brought preseed to the office for a follicle check, they would laugh me right out of there. No good dr will use anything in regards to medical care that didn't come from their own office. It's it' just too much of a liability.

Normally I wouldn't mind going without lubricants, but I noticed last month that my cm was soooo dried up and that's not normal for me, so I just wasn't sure about the procedure.

Thank you for the reply--- and, thankfully, my doctor is still on the "good team"...

take care,

Obsessed!? haha-- if there were a word that was ever stonger and MORE neurotic than obsessed, that would be ME :)

Thank you for the reassurance!! (and for the laugh on the post below!! my doc wouldn't even blink!) he's coming in on the weekend for me next week b/c the other doc on call won't do follie checks--- so i'm grateful and i know that this doc wants me preggo *almost* as much as I want me preggo :)

by the way, i was reading the preseed website, and it said that it can be used as u/s gel which is what got me thinking about it in the first place-- i really should stay off the internet!

thank you again,

I agree with pp. Your dr will not use something that is not in their office for the simple fact of medical malpractice. I had almost monthly vag u/s for about 15 months. Some were around cd3 but many on cd13/14 to check follies. The lube they use would not inhibit the sperm. Also, if you are getting a trigger shot, you will O within 12-36 hours. By that time, the amount of lube they use would be gone.

I would have the u/s at noon, trigger at that time then DTD that night. We even got it to work one month (my 1st m/c). I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Oh, I wasn't implying the idea of using preseed as u/s gel is weird. It certainly isn't and would be absolutely fine. I was just saying that most good dr's wouldn't be willing to use anything that they didn't already have in their office. It's just too risky. They couldn't be sure it was what it was supposed to be and they'd really be sticking themselves out there as far as malpractice goes.

I've been at this for just under 5 years, so believe me when I say I know was obsession is. :)

Thank you! I understand the reasoning :) and we're still on the fence about triggering b/c insurance won't cover the hcg to trigger... so we'll see--- it's bad enough we're covering the u/s out of pocket :(

thanks for the suggestions and the *hope*.

no no, I know.. i was just saying that i hadn't even thought of it except the website mentioned it and got me thinking. probably wouldn't even care except the clomid destroyed my cm, which is usually plentiful...

it's so weird, i always swear that each month that goes by (i'm on 26 months now) i'm going to let go and let nature take its course, but every month i get MORE and MORE focused.... wanted to try the next supplement, the next med, the next "thing".... oh it sucks---- and i have such a bad personality for this ttc stuff.... :(

thank you again!!! (and good luck!!)
