My NP called back. DH's karyotyping is good, but they couldn't even grow mine to test it. I go back in for another blood draw tomorrow at 9 before work.

I wonder if they drew your blood with the wrong tube. I know if that was the case it can mess up everything depending on the tube they used. I hope it is a lab problem. Sending you positive thoughts.

A little different scenario, but they took a sample from the first baby I lost and they weren't able to do a karyotype on it, because the "the cells weren't viable enough" So I'm guessing that means they couldn't grow them out to get a good sample. That was really frustrating, because it wasn't something they could "redo". I've done a lot of microbiology stuff in school and when I used to be a laboratory tech and even if no one did anything incorrectly things don't always go as expected.

Hm, no, I haven't heard that but it sounds like a lab error to me. Keep your chin up and try again.

Thanks girls... I went in today for another lab draw and talked to the lab tech at my dr's office. she thinks that whoever was preparing the sample probably did it incorrectly. Oh, and she looked and DH's hasn't come back yet, so don't know what my NP was looking at yesterday. :/

That is very odd, that your NP and the lab tech aren't seeing the same thing. Makes me wonder who's right? And if it's not your NP, what was she looking at, and are they positive there was a problem with yours?

I have no clue. I have decided to put it out of my mind and just wait for the next one. :/
