(((Hugs))) Wendy. I will definitely be praying for hypo with you! I am hypothyroid - found out after I asked to be tested for it when I was having trouble ttc my second child and it wasn't working. I also had some mid cycle spotting and tonnes of the symptoms, but I am not your typical looking hypothyroid and so noone ever really suspected it. Anyways, being hypo is not so bad - you just take a thyroxine supplement everyday and it usually regulates quite quickly. For me it takes less than two weeks to get my TSH under control when I change doses. I actually sort of blame my thyroid for my m/c because I didn't get tested until almost 7 weeks and the numbers were too high. I have never had a dosage change ever, even when pg with my DD so I guess I assumed that it would be fine, but my HCG was SO high that it threw my thryoid out of whack and I really wonder if it caused the m/c. I guess I'll never know, but I have gotten my tsh back down nice and low so that I can ttc knowing that it won't be a problem.

Anyways, good luck and KUP! I really hope it's hypo and within a couple of weeks you'll be all regulated and hopefully have your BFP!

I was hyper when I got preggo (the m/c preggo). After we lost the baby the endocrinologist wanted me to have the iodine treatment. I just took it in February. They recommend that you wait 6 month to a year before TTC. I'm almost at the 6 month mark right now. Basically just waiting for the docs go ahead right now. I'm going to be hoping, praying, and wishing for you that it's hypo since all you have to do for that is take a pill.

Yes you're right on about the 'new' normal. Ask for your actual tsh value because the old standard for normal was 0.5 - 4.5 and now the endocrinologists are saying 0.3 - 3.0 is normal and they say in order to achieve and maintain pregnancy you should be under 2.0 I feel symptomatic over 2.0 so I try to keep it under all the time. With my m/c I was at 2.8 when I got pg and 3.49 at 7 weeks. The dr didn't even call me because the lab I go to still uses the old normal. Very frustrating.
