so i used a opk yesterday morning and the lines were different, 1 was dark the other light and not the same thickness. tested last night defiently no LH surge. tested this am and almost think its a positive. what do you think, looking at it now its been 10 mins, the lines are the same thickness and only a shade difference in color

the testing line should be the same color, if not darker than the control line.....in this picture the test line is still a bit lighter than the control line, so it's still negative. BUT, if you say it got as dark & big as control line, then it's positive.....the 2 lines should look the same.

That's definitely a negative OPK. That test line has to be as dark or darker than the control line.

Thanks.. I DTD just in case and tested again tonight and def a negative. I think either i O'd already and missed it or it'll happen in the next few days. I really though today was it, but after testing tonight and it only having 1 line again i really do think my timing is off besides no change in CM.

Chris, I (personal opinion) don't think OPK's are 100% accurate & can't be trusted....altho they give you a 'hint' of ovulation.

I think I am going stop trying, I have 3 beautiful children, 2 still with me and perfectly healthy and I am incredibly grateful for that, and my handsome Angel always watching over us. I thought the OPK's would be easy again like last time. guess not huh? If it happens, it happens. I am so preoccupied with TTC that its all I think about, not a good thing with a 2 yr old. :smileyvery-happy:

I agree with others that OPKs just aren't that reliable. You can have a hormone surge and not ovulate at all, or you can have a short surge that is missed if you take the OPK only once a day. I find temping to be a lot more accurate if you can do it consistenly. Granted, temping can only tell you that you have already ovulated, but at least you can see a pattern for when you typically ovulate, and try to DTD the days leading up to it. However, I totally understand just wanting to go with the flow too. Like Kiki said, it will probably happen when you're not even thinking about it :-) Good luck!

I agree with these Ladies as well!! After I lost my Daughter I started OPKS in August they would Give me Positives and I wasent even Ovualting:( So there is no TRUE way of knowing unless you TEMP with them:) I am going to try that next Cycle;)
