The plan for this cycle

So I went into the RE’s office all gung ho about being on a straight injectables cycle and he basically swatted me down like a fly. His exact words were “If I thought that would help you, I would be doing it.” I’ve said it before, he is a total a-hole but for a lot of reasons I’m stuck with him and I do believe that he knows what he’s doing (as much as any other RE does anyway).

He basically kept me on the same protocol only he doubled my Bravelle dosage. He also wants me to stay on the Estrace. I nodded and said okay but I refuse to take it. I fully heartedly believe that is what screwed up my last cycle so badly. Besides, he’ll never be able to tell if I am not taking it or if my body is just not responding to it.

I am a little worried about my lining but there’s nothing I can do about it since the only drug given to help with that seems to keep me from producing any follicles. The injectables SHOULD help avoid a lining problem (I have never had a lining

Chelle,
I am so sorry the doctor didn't take your plan into consideration. What they need to understand is that we are "educated consumers". You do your research before bringing anything to them.

I agree with you on the estrace. Fx that the follie check next week shows some good progress.

Many {{{hugs}}}

sorry your appt did not go as planned. I'm hoping last cycle was just a fluke or the estrace and I truly believe and hope things will be better this cycle. I have everything crossed you get good news at your follie check. HUGS, I know it's frustrating.

Hi Michelle,
I just thought I would chime in here. When my OB was talking to me yesterday about hormone levels and such, he mentioned that he had a meeting with the RE in town who said that they've tried clomid along with estrogen with their patients, and basically the estrogen made it so that most of the women didn't ovulate. It totally worked against them. I'm not sure about the lining thing and what can be done about that, but just thought I'd throw that out to you. I think you may be right about the estrace.

Danielle, I am so grateful you told me that as that it exactly what I'd been reading. What good is a lining without an egg? The good news is that when I am on a daily dose of injectables as high as what I am on this month, I don't have lining problems. At least that has been the case in the past but my body has not been very trustworthy lately so who knows...thanks for telling me about the estrogen though. The more I hear that, the more I feel like I am doing the right thing.

So wait ... are you on Femara AND Bravelle (higher dose), or just Bravelle?

Hey Michelle,

I'm sorry the a-hole made you feel bad... he obviously has a cr@p bedside manner, but sometimes the best do....

Good luck for your next follie check, I hope it's better news this cycle!

I'm surprised anyone wants to be his patient w/ that kind of attitude. But a smart a-hole is better than a really nice idiot in a case like this.
Chemically speaking the femara and estrace are working against each other. I hope you get really good news this time.

Chouli - Yes he is an arrogant narcissist but he knows what he’s doing and this practice is the only one in my network as far as insurance goes so I am stuck. Anyway, like you said I don’t need his bedside manner. I need his drugs and lab and u/s machine LOL He can call me a dirty ho bag as long as he gives me that stuff!

Aubre -
