I would ask for the trigger. It really helps to pinpoint when O will happen so you can get as many little dudes up there as possible! The other benefit of a trigger shot is that without it, most women only release one egg. If you have two or more that are mature, the trigger will force all of them to release. More eggs = better chances.

I would also ask for Progesterone after O *if* you have any reason to believe you are low. If you have always had a great LP and no other reason to believe you have low levels, it's a waste of time and money really.

Bear in mind that a trigger will cause a false + hpt for about 10 days so you can't reliabley test until 12 dpo unless you test daily after you trigger to watch the tests go neg. Ask me more about this later if you end up triggering.

Hey, thank you for responding, I truly appreciate it.

I'm going to try and assert myself and ask for the trigger if he says I'm about to O

Hi again,

Well he just rang to say my BW has not shown ovulation and that it will likely happen Tuesday or Wednesday, but I need to have more BW Monday morning.

I think I will ask for the shot, if he gets me to come in for a scan. Otherwise I'm not going to bother. For some reason I just feel resigned to the fact that it's not working for me this cycle.

I honestly thought I was Oing today, with my EWCM and +OPK yesterday, and what I *thought* was O pains today. So if my E2 levels aren't high enough, maybe I'm Oing another immature egg, so I don't wanna get my hopes up. :(

That *is* bizarre that you got a + OPK but didn't O within 48 hours of that. But you're right in that you shouldn't trigge without an u/s and I would be surprised if they let you do that anyway. You need a follicle check to confirm mature follicles before you should trigger. I hope your dr agrees to do one. Keep me posted.

Had more BW done this morning, still no impending O. WT?

Very annoying. I asked him why I got a +OPK and he just said you can't trust OPKs when on Clomid, only blood LH levels and E2 levels. Still getting annoying twinges I've never had where I *think* my ovaries are, but honestly, what do I know, :)

Grr.

Yeah sometimes Clomid can mess with OPK's but normally it's not a problem. Most times when women are doing IUI's without being monitored, the RE's tell them to call the day of the + OPK and then do the IUI the next day. Thank goodness that's not what you were told to do or an IUI would have been a total waste huh? So what are you supposed to do now? Go back in?

HI Michelle,

I thought i posted a reply on my phone but just got home and... apparently not.

Anyway, I rang today to check my CD13 (today) results, and the receptionist read them to me. She said my E2 today was 2300, yesterday 1700. Does this seem high? Is the doctor maybe not predicting ovulation because LH hasn't peaked? I didn't ask about LH or P4, because he's certain I haven't Od. He doesn't say "You'll ovulate in the next few days" or anything like that, just "The doctor would like you to have another blood test tomorrow".

I'm only doing BW this cycle. He said if the numbers seem too high he'll get me in for a scan to make sure there are not too many follicles. That's what I was hoping would happen, and if there werent too many I would have asked to trigger.

What do you think of these estradiol numbers? TIA

Those E2 numbers are high. Way high. I am shocked they don't want to do a scan. You either have a bunch of little ones or a few big ones. You seem to have responded to the Clomid really well. Your LH must be low but I am still surprised they don't want to do an u/s with E2 levels that high. So what now? When do you go in for more bloodwork?

Yea! It does seem high to me also. In wondering if he thinks it's too high and that's why he's not telling us to bd. Would a doctor do that? I had more blood drawn this morning, so I'll get those results in a few hours.

Nah, I think if they thought it was too high they would def tell you and talk to you about it. I don't think it's TOO high necessarily - just higher than you normally see with Clomid. That is a level you see more with injectable cycles. Let me know what your blood work looks like!
