Results of testing....

I had blood work done yesterday and found out that my hCG level is at 6. Bummer! I was really hoping it would be below 5. I guess that's close enough. I am 99% sure that I o'd on Wednesday, though. I had all the signs, including major o pain on both sides (not that unusual given my age), and my temp was 97.07. Yesterday the pain was gone and my temp was 97.56, and this morning it was 97.72. If I get AF in 10-12 days that will confirm for sure!

I just also heard from my doc with the results from the genetic testing. I am quite relieved (though saddened) to find out that our angel had Full Trisomy 16. Because I had a D&C before I had any signs of MC, I have been second-guessing myself and terrified that I made a mistake, and the doctor was wrong (he kind of bullied me into doing a D&C). I am relieved to find out that it is highly unlikely that the baby would have survived the first trimester, even if it had started to grow (at 8 weeks there was almost no growth).

I am going back to do more BW next Thursday to check hCG and progesterone levels to see for sure where I am in my cycle. I will be starting Clomid again on CD3. I hope that's only 2 weeks from now.

Oh Susie - I'm sorry that your hcg is still registering but it should be completely gone by next week for sure.

And I'm sorry about the Trisomy 16 - that must have been very hard to hear. I hope you didn't beat yourself up too much about the D&C - I had the exact same thought when I scheduled mine because my baby had died at around 8 1/2 - 9 weeks and I was 12 weeks when we discovered it wasn't a viable pg and still hadn't passed it. Even though the u/s showed no heartbeat and you couldn't even make our a shape, I still thought "what if" as I scheduled my procedure. So hugs to you - I know what that feels like.

Hoping that you have some peace from the news of knowing and that you get a 0 next week and can start your Clomid!

Hugs ~

Thanks, Ann! I'm so sorry that you had a similar experience. It's such a painful decision to have to make.

I hope your beta goes down to 2 or less very soon. I also second guessed myself but I didn't have a D&C. I had to agree to a shot to dissolve the ectopic pregnancy even we couldn't see it on ultrasound. I kept on thinking that maybe we didn't wait long enough for it to show on U/S. I know it was the right decision but it still hurts.

It sounds like you will be able to try very soon. I do think it is good to know what happened with your pregnancy and I hope you get a healthy BFP very soon. :)

Susie, Im glad your HCG has dropped below 10, that is very good news. But Im so sorry that your dear baby had trisomy 16. I hope it gives you some peace, to know that your baby would not have survived even if you hadnt done the D&C. After all we go through with our losses, we shouldnt have to beat ourselves up with guilt about the choices we were forced to make.

Here's hoping that your next round of bloodwork comes back all good, so that you can get the green-light to TTC again with Clomid.
