So happy to have a new plan

I have renewed happiness with my doctor this morning - after waiting 2 weeks just to get a 10 minute phone call with her (really aggravating that it needed to be put on her schedule and they were thinking of charging me for an office visit) I had an excellent talk this morning.

Cynthia, I also went in for injectable IUI's and millions of monitoring appts and I agree...after all I have been through I am up not up for that anymore either. Especially since they didn't work despite having ten mature follicles one month.

I also considered Clomid IUI's until I can afford my IVF hoping the work in the interim but ultimately decided we would try au naturel until I have money for IVF which I *know* will work instead of IUI's that we'd be *hoping* would work.

I am so glad that you feel so at peace with your choice as feeling peaceful and hopeful is the next best thing to a BFP!

Okay everybody knows that my body is like a deaf mute when it comes to symptoms or side effects from ANYTHING but I never had a single side effect from Clomid. Nada nothing zilch...

Thanks Michelle - I consider myself lucky in the fact that I have insurance coverage for fertility treatments (if I can be lucky for anything IF related).

Oh yeah, you're not kidding. I paid $3000 or so for each injectable IUI cycle and $1000 for each Clomid IUI cycle. It's unreal...they shouldn't be able to charge that much.

I am glad you have a plan that is less stressful. I didn't have any side effects on Femara so if the side effects on Clomid get too intense, you can ask your doctor about Femara.

Good luck! :)

I just wanted to wish you luck! I've never done IUI's but I've been around the proverbial Clomid block. For me, the only side effect I ever got was headaches, and that only the first time (I went through 6 cycles). As for O'ing earlier, without a trigger shot, I never O'd before CD 17, so you might just be okay.

Thanks Christy - I considered asking about Femera but decided that I was nervous enough about trying something different and hoping that it works that I opted to go with the doc's suggestion first.

Thanks Kara - I get headaches anyway so I probably won't even note those as a side effect.

That makes me feel a lot better about o'ing early.
