The RE emailed me and said I have two copies of the MTHFR C gene. She said I will need more b vitamins and folic acid and maybe blood thinner. Is this what caused my two losses? I'm reading all this stuff on google, some confusing and some scary. I really don't know what to think. I can't stop crying thinking maybe my losses could have been prevented. Do you have any info on MTHFR? Thanks so much!

So glad your doctor got back to you quicker than originally thought!! I have only 1 of the mutations and had a normal pregnancy with DS before I was diagnosed. So I now take Neevo (a prescription prenatal that allows me to absorb folic acid properly), extra B12 and baby aspirin. So your doctor will find the right meds for you!! No worries!

I'm glad you got some answers. And I wanted to give you some hope. My patient last night had the MTHFR gene and she had a beautiful baby boy.

My Dr didn't have me start the injections until I got a BFP either.

Thanks so much ladies. I started neevo today. My insurance didn't cover it so it was 176.00 for three months, I guess it's worth it if I get a bfp and stay pregnant.

Hi, I work with Neevo. MTHFR is a genetic classification. In a practical sense, it refers to the amount of MTHFR enzyme that is present in your body. Having MTHFR is an indication that you may be limited in what value you get from traditional folic acid. You should seek support from a more focused diet and a more modern form of supplementation, such as L-methylfolate. This explains how L-methylfolate bypasses the genetic limitations of MTHFR.

Hi, I work with Neevo. Sorry, I just answered your original post. Glad to see you started Neevo. I hope it helps. If insurance coverage is a concern, there is information on the website regarding discount programs through Brand Direct Health.
