Stupid Baby Benefits Program!

So, I check my mail today and there is a packet of info for me telling my that I'm getting closer to my Baby's Birth and I need to make delivery plans with my healthcare provider....Gggrrrrrr! Guess they didn't get the memo that I had a frickin' miscarriage! I called the 800 number and told them to take me off their list immediately. The poor woman felt horrible about what had happened. She offered to send me a book on miscarriage - so I took her up on her offer. I need another m/c book like I need a hole in my head.

Shannon -

How aggravating is that??? I'm sorry you had to deal with that today. I can relate - I keep getting an online newsletter from another baby site that I joined that keeps telling me what week of my pregnancy I'm on and I can't unsubscribe! Every time I try I just get in this endless internet loop and apparently I'm going to keep getting this hellish weekly reminder whether I want it or not! I just keep quickly deleting them every time I get them now. It's hard enough trying to get over things and move on without these kinds of reminders!

Yeah, I keep getting stuff about donating the umbilical cord blood. Ugh! How do they find out that we are pregnant, but they don't find out that we've m/c'd???

Shannon,

I totally understand.. The week I started getting my bills in the mail from the hospital and all the m/c stuff, I got a bunch of magazines for ordering maternity clothes and cribs and baby stuff.. It was such a slap in the face.. And of course DH can't figure out why it upsets me.. DUHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

On the other hand, I was getting weekly reports on my pg from ivillage, and when I unsubscribed there was the nicest letter from them.. It stated that they hated to see me go. They also asked that I email them if it was b/c I didn't like the info, and then went on to say how sorry they were if I was leaving due to m/c, and directed me to sites that might help..

What amazes me is how quickly the due date is coming, and we still aren't pg.. It's all so frustrating..

Shannon,

I am so sorry and I know how you feel. I got a call from my insurance company last week to talk about healthy nutrition for the baby. AHHHHHHHHHH I am sure they got the bills from the hospital. You would think m/c would be priority for taking you off a pg list. Funny thing about this insurance company, DH got a new job and we are not even covered by them anymore....idiots!

The day I went to the doctor and had the ultrasound that detected no heartbeat, the Doctor told me he would have all my future appointments (for ultrasound, amnio, etc.) cancelled for me so that no one would be calling, etc. I thought that was kind.

I've been lucky, I wasn't subscribed to anything else that sends anything.

I had bought a lot of summer maternity clothes but still had all the tags on, so I took them all back and bought twice as many "regular" clothes! (Oddly enough the cashier at the store had just had a miscarriage too, so we commmiserated as she refunded me!) That was somewhat healing to me! (Getting rid of the maternity clothes so I didn't have to see them sitting there useless)

I had actually just worn the maternity jeans I got two days before my dr appointment. I took the other pair back and packed the couple of turtlenecks away since I had gotten them on sale at Old Navy...figured I might need them later. All the baby stuff is packed away along with the baby cradle that DH made (which arrived the week before my appointment after being used for his niece and nephew and is now covered by a sheet).

I still have all the maternity clothes my sister in law lent me, i'm going to hang onto them just to be practical. She lives a couple hours away and by the next time I see her I hope to be pregnant anyways. As for the clothes I bought, they were almost all tank style shirts for summer. I know if I conceive again, even soon I wouldn't need them. So I figure if I conceive again, I'll just shop again for that weather!

That is hell. Just this weekend I got an issue of this stupid pregnancy magazine that I am trying to cancel. DH admitted to having tossed out an issue already since I was definitely in state to see it when it came before. How many times do I have to write cancelled on the stupid invoice? Next time, I'm callin'!!!

i know how it feels- i came home from the store the other day and there was a note on my door stating that i had to pick up an 'URGENT' letter at the post office. i rushed there not knowing what it could be. it was a letter from my hospital saying i had'nt been there lately to check up on my pregnancy. that's b/c i miscarried and they know i did. even worse i handed it to my father for him to open so he's the one who read it. he would'nt know sensitivity if it hit him in the head. i wanted to crawl under a rock at that very moment.
