Well, it's been awhile but I'm back to share sone news. :) As some of you know, back in August we did our first cycle with Clomid/Bravelle/Double IUI's with no luck. At the time of the IUI's, my RE was a little concerned with my husband's sperm count (they had done semen analysis' prior to my surgery and after and although the results were on the low end of normal, he wasn't concerned.) So he sent him to a urologist thay specializes in fertility. In October, we went and found that my husband's count was ZERO. Of course we were shocked and frustrated. We didn't understand what could have happened to lower his count so dramatically. Anyway, they did an MRI and found out that he had elevated prolactin levels and a small pituitary tumor. We ended up seeing a neuro-surgeon but he wasn't concerned and said we would just monitor the tumor in six months with another MRI.
The urologist decides to put my husband on some medication to help stabilize his prolactin levels. We were told to return in three months.

Well, our appointment was Monday and we were shocked by the news. His levels went from zero to 50 million in the sample that he gave. The urologist said that he couldn't even explain it but this was excellent news. :) We were ecstatic and I must saw I started crying in the doctor's office as this had been a long, TTC journey for us. I immediately thought to myself...has my DH's count been non-existent for the past two years and we have started trying? If so, does this mean we might actually have a chance now? I'm optimistic and the urologist said that we should definitely start trying on our own and see what happens. I'm so excited!!! Not to mention that his appointment was Monday, on Wednesday I ovulated, and we BD'd in the middle of an ice storm when we had no power and electricity for 39 hours. Maybe it's a sign? LOL Anyway, I wanted to share because I finally feel like we have a good chance this time. Even if we have to go back down the IUI road, at least I feel there is a chance that we could be successful. Keepin my fingers crossed. :)

p.s. Sorry for any typos as I am typing this post from my cellphone. :)

That's awesome news :) Truly a miracle. I know things are so much easier to deal with when you think something has changed and you have some hope!

Thanks! Yes, it's me... :) I've been on the board on and off since 2005 (my last m/c.) My DH and I have been TTC for about the last 2 1/2 years with no luck However, we just found out that my DH has had elevated hormone levels (possibly for almost the last two years.) His count is back within normal ranges so we are hoping for the best. How have you been? Where are you at in your TTC journey?

I hate that you are still here for this reason but at the same time it's good to "see" you.

Thanks ladies!!!! I too found out a few years ago that I have MTHFR and was prescribed one baby aspirin and 4 mg of folic acid a day. I am hoping that now we know his count is back up that we are successful soon. Maybe this month? We ovulated a day or two after hearing the good news. :) I plan on trying to be on the board more now that we actually have a good chance. We took a few months off as we were waiting to find out what was going on with DH. Now...we are ready! :)

Yes, Dustie it is. I'm hoping that maybe it's a sign. A sign we definitely needed after 2 1/2 of TTC. :)
