very bad hysteroscopy today

We went in this morning for my hysteroscopy/biopsy after breakfast. I had to take an antibiotic pill and a pain pill beforehand. So I get on the table. They put paper drapes on my legs and put me in high leg stirrups. Speculum, endoscope camera...It was so painful! It took her several minutes of probing and she still wasn't through my cervix. She was surprised that it was being so difficult and commented that my IUIs were never that bad. Meantime I am squirming and breathing and whimpering through the pain. Then she pushes through and finds my uterus. Gasp! The pain was so bad I almost screamed. She looked around and then took the equipment out. She gave me my options. She believes she saw inflammation and would like to biopsy it. Knowing I have to go through all that again and add to it the pain of the actual tissue removal...I agreed. She started, but never finished. I was in so much pain she decided to stop trying. As soon as she pulled the equipment out again, I vomited. Guess it was the pills, stress, pain combo? I was nauseated until I got home

sorry that sounds horrible. I had to do something like that for my baldder, it was weird and uncomfortable. I took anxiety meds before and it helped with the pain and nervousness. Sorry that you have to do it again. HUGS!!!!!!

I'm so sorry you had such a rough time. You are not a wimp. Perhaps the inflammation and perhaps infection is what caused it to be uncomfortable.

At least the next time it will be with anesthesia, so it shouldn't be as bad. Hope you feel better soon...

Ya know, I have a pretty high threshold for pain. I might wince but I never cry, never utter a sound but I do remember my HSG giving me a run for my money. It wasn't terrible and I wasn't in tears or anything but it was uncomfortable to say the least. You are NOT a wimp!

OMG, I can't believe they do that procedure with you wide awake and only ONE pain pill!! They should provide better drugs if they don't put you out!

I am so sorry. IUI's are extremely painful for me so I can totally relate to the pain aspect. They started giving me vaulum before the procedure which makes it more tolerable. I have never had a hysteroscopy and I never want one. They would have to knock me out for that. I am glad you are getting drugs for your next one. Hugs.....

Chouli that sounds absolutely awful! And you're not a wimp! The things we women go through huh? You're a brave girl. And on the plus side(if there is one!) the doctor at least got to have a look. :( hugs

((HUGS)) and OMG ouch!!! No, I would not say you are a wimp at all. You did try, you really did. Heck you even let the doc try twice, which is way more than most probably would have done. A wimp wouldn't have even shown up for the appointment. You are a rock star in my book. I think I would have tossed my cookies way earlier. You poor thing. I'm glad you are feeling better. Thank goodness you'll have anesthesia next time. Will the doc give you anything prior to open up the cervix? ((HUGS)) again. Now, go away inflammation!

UGH! Sounds terrible! I'm so sorry you had to go through that! I hope when they do it again under anesthesia, it's not so bad afterward. (((HUGS))) Will the tissue sample tell anything further? KUP!
