So I found out last month, when I wasn't TTC, that if I drink a lot of water it makes for super excellent CM. However, if I drink a lot of water my OPKs will be useless. I started my OPKs today, cd10, and expect a + late on cd13 maybe 14. So do I drink a lot of water and not pay attention to the OPKs or do I drink less, have lesser quality cm but rely on the OPKs. Why can't things just be easy? Ya know, POAS, get a + opk, BD, then 2 weeks later get a bfp. Now is that too hard?? I don't think so!

I say cut back on the drinking. Nothing will create CM where there is none. Not even Mucinex. Water just helps thin it out some but if you would have it anway you will still have it and it won't create if it's not there. Besides, getting a + OPK I think is more important anyway.

Michelle is right, that a +OPK is more reliable than CM, just because it has a more specific timetable, KWIM? Whereas CM can come and go, and it can be even more difficult to interpret than the two lines on a stick.
I think cutting back on the water a little bit is a good idea.
Good luck for this cycle, Aimee!

I never thought of this Aimee. I would say to drink a normal amount until you get the positive OPK, then chug extra water for a couple of days. FWIW I don't get hardly any CM but still manage to conceive fairly easily.

When I was doing OPKs for a few months, I could drink water in the morning and after POAS. Can't you load up at those times and just cut it off between 11am-4pm? (Or whatever your time is)

And you can use preseed to help with the CM. I've heard lots of people say good things about it.
