Well, I have some answers...

I had my follow up with my RE. My official diagnosis is "irregular ovulation with recurrent pregnancy loss" (or something like that...I don't remember the exact wording). I'm sure all of you are familiar with this. Basically, my eggs aren't maturing. During my CD 10 ultrasound I had 40 follicles (20 on each side), but none were dominant. My estrogen was very low on CD 10. It was 61. The RE said they want it to be between 150-200. So...the plan: I have to lose 20 lbs. between now and my December cycle. Then, in December, start a round of Gonal, followed by Ovidrel, then IUI.

I was really hoping we'd get to try this cycle, so the fact that we have to sit this cycle out is disappointing. I'm overwhelmed that I have to lose 20 lbs., which I know is for the best...it's something I should be doing anyway. At least I now have my answers.

Wow, how long did it take the RE to figure out the recurrent pregnancy loss part ;)

Sorry you have to wait to try again.

Is that healthy to lose 20 lbs in a month though?? I guess some ppl do it on Biggest Loser, just seems like so much for someone that isn't doing it as their job.

Good luck!

An answer is better than "unexplained infertility", so that's great news!!!

I agree - almost ANY answer is better that unexplained infertility which is just fancy for "we dunno wtf is wrong with you"

Starting with CD2, they did a complete hormonal work up. On CD 10, they rechecked the hormones and did an U/S. On CD 15, they did a HSG. They also did a sperm analysis on DH. So, it took just 1 cycle for them to have the answers for me. Good luck on finding your answers!

**Pregnancies mentioned**

Thank you for the support & words of wisdom. The weight-loss thing is frustrating to me. I've been struggling with my weight since I was a teenager. I'm the exact weight now that I was when I got pregnant (and had an uneventful pregnancy) with DD#1. I was about 20 lbs. lighter when I got pregnant with DD #2 & I had a few problems during that pregnancy. I know that everyone is different, but I have a "friend" who weighed significantly more than I do who got pregnant & is having an uneventful pregnancy.

I don't know if I can lose 20 lbs. in the next 6 weeks, but I figure even if I lose 10, it'll be a start...& there's no way I'm going to let them make me wait another month if I don't meet the 20 lbs. mark. I'm not obese by any means, so I'm not sure why the doctor chose 20 lbs. It seems like such an arbitrary number.

I'm disappointed that we have to sit it out next month, but I just couldn't handle a 4th miscarriage. The doctor told me that I'll more than likely miscarry if I get a BFP in the next month. That's a heartache I just can't handle.
