Congrats! I'm sorry to hear his nine months were challenging ones.

Not tanduming, but I would think perhaps washing, though I'd choose soaps carefully to protect your sensitive skin.

With him BFing he's getting so many great antibodies for you he's sure to have a healthy immune system that will hopefully keep her germs at bay.

Congrats again!

Hey ladies!

Well she hasn't asked to nurse lately..I think i am being way over-protective with him, and scarying her away...I really need to work on this.

I'd be worried about pertussis. I'd probably have her tested or look into how long it's contagious. Just because he's so young, you have to watch anyone with a cough since pertussis is really common.

I wasn't planning on tandeming either. DD had weaned herself for part of my pregnancy. But I'm finding that I do enjoy it and it is very healthy for DD. Usually I will nurse baby on one side and DD on the other. She mostly wants to nurse when he does. I have tons of milk though so I have never had to worry about nursing the baby first.

Congrats!

I never Tandemed. Dd asked a few times, but by the time she nursed she hsd forgotten how. I gave her breast milk in a cup and she promptly announced that she did not like my milk anymore.

Like tyvette mentioned, I always thought that you didn't have to worry about any special cleaning. I love kellymom.com for any BF related questions.

I look forward to your birth story when you get a chAnce!!

My Dd (also 3) was sick several times since dd2 was born. So far baby Maren hasn't gotten sick. I actually thou she was at about a week old, but turns out it was just that baby mucous clearing out. Make sure that you keep your vitamin D levels up, I swear by it to prevent sicknEss.

OMG! The veterinarian hospital thing is the funniest story I have ever heard in a birth story! That is completely awesome! You will hold that over your husbands head until the day he dies. Do you remember the time you drove me to the vet when I was 9 cms dilated with Erik?

Oh and the breast self cleaning thing has to do with the Montgomery tubules, I think.
