Could I really be that far along???HELP!

OK ladies, so here's the run down...In February my SO and I decided that we'd like to start trying again, well March 10th I got my BFP! My son is just now 10 months old, I've only had 1 Cycle (December 21, 2009). I had my 6 month check up on January 22nd this year and my dr noted that my uterus was enlarged, and just shrugged it off that it probably was due to me having a 6 month old and it just "not going back down to normal yet". I chuckled and looked at my SO like OH CRAP, am I Pregnant...needless to say I tested the next day...Negative! I was testing like every 3 weeks just to make sure that I didn't miss me getting pregnant just to be sure as we weren't trying to prevent, but also weren't trying to get pregnant. Beginning of Feb we started talking about "when" we wanted to have our next (as the earliest) we decided 18 months would be good, as in lets try for getting pregnant in March...so I bought OPK's and just had them in the house...I was having some O type feeling down there on the 23rd of Feb so I used one, got a positive...we DTD the next night and two nights after that (24th & 26th). the next week i started taking tests like crazy, as the tests I have said it could tell up to 5 days after O...(Yeah right) I took 9 tests over a two week period, took a week off, then took another test the 10th of March and got my BFP (it was faint, but there) I called my dr two days later and the 15th went in for my bloodwork...when i called to get the results the nurse said congrats your numbers are low (but should be right on where you think you O'd)...We'll see you April 7th.

So on April 7th I went in for my first appt. I should have been like 7 weeks...well they found a HB...then the nurse says well I've found them as early as 6 weeks before...(I thought hmmm...yeah right)...so the dr comes in and starts doing the pressing on the abdomen and says you feel a solid 12-14 weeks (WHAT!), then does the internal exam and says yeah definitely at least 10 weeks but more towards the 12th...schedule her next week for an ultrasound...well I stopped him and asked him If i could really be that far along, he said its a possibility since I really don't know when I got pregnant, that maybe I'm that big cause there is more than one...that I need to go back next week for an ultrasound, but in the mean time do the full work up with more BETAS for the next appt...Well that's all fine and dandy, but my SO is in London (now he's stuck there) so I scheduled it for two weeks later so that he could be there, and now I've rescheduled it for this Wednesday (Hoping and praying he makes it home). They won't let me reschedule any longer.

I guess if you read all that, my real question is: Is it possible to get a BFN while breast feeding if your really pregnant? I must have taken a dozen tests between January and my BFP...were all those tests defective? I mean really? Why would I have felt as far along as I did? I usually measure under since I'm 6'2" and have alot of room to store little babies! Not that I'm overweight, cause I'm not...but really a good 7 weeks further along than I thought. GASP!

There's no way all those tests were wrong. Sounds like you know exactly when you got pg.

I would just bet that your uterus is larger because you've already had a child. I measured 6 weeks large with my last baby! And she was a small baby.

In the event of twins, I've had them, breastfeeding increases the risk of twins, and you will measure a few weeks large but I would think your numbers would have been high.

I'm shocked they didn't do a transvaginal ultrasound right then and there.

Congrats and good luck!

My SO finally has a flight home SATURDAY! He really wants to be there, so I called and RE-scheduled our ultrasound for first thing Monday! I'm glad its dead here in our town cause of the economy or i'd never be able to reschedule this many times with my dr. The nurse and I talked, and she basically said that rescheduling to Friday was the docs hopes at the latest for my ultrasound, but what's monday compared to Friday, this is my 7th pregnancy (I have 3 living children) so he knows that if somethings going on I'd be right in there. He's a little concerned about my rash I've had for the last 3 weeks but I've been seen by the ER and a dermatologist so its being treated. It wouldn't really matter to him if I was 8 weeks or 17 weeks, I'm knowledgeable about taking care of myself, and have been on prenates since pregnant with my son, I eat healthy and in general am a healthy person. I'm not too concerned if I'm further along as much as if it is twins. It changes some of our plans, and I'd want to let the people affected know as soon as possible so other arrangements can be made for my SO's job. My nurse won't discuss blood work over the phone, other than its good, so no need to "rush" in. I know how important it is to my SO to be there for "every" appt, he's already missed one, and will possibly miss most of them if we do relocate, so this is the least I can do rescheduling to make sure he's home for this early one.

Thank you all for your responses, and I'll keep you updated...I can't wait to find out myself (I've had a pregnancy with twins but baby b did not thrive and vanished by my 12th week)...I was so early on that i don't remember much of what all was happening and measuring (Plus it was almost 7 years ago!)
