Big congrats! You can give your DD cows milk at this point! Most peds say you can start as early as 9 months but it is best to wait until 12 months! Since you would only be supplementing there should be no troubles as she will still get all the benifits of your breast milk! My June Joey is completly on cows milk now:( She is doing great! Again, very big congrats!!!!

Huge congratulations! I have a book called "Adventures in Tandem Nursing" which has wonderful information in it. There's also a lot of info on kellymom.

Hi and congratulations! I have six kids and I nursed almost all the way through pregnancy each time. The last time I kept right on going and did tandem nursing until about a month ago.....my DD's will be 2 and 4 in July.

The pp is right. Cow's milk is fine at this point. And I wouldn't worry about a drop in supply. I guess mine must have but none of my kids seemed to even notice. Just give your DC as good a diet as you can, nurse on demand and things usually take care of themselves. Between diet and nursing, she'll get what she needs. I also recommend the book, "Adventures in Tandem Nursing." Good luck! It is an adventure, and trying at times--but so very worth it. My daughters are very close even now at almost 2 and 4.

Congratulations Katie!!! H & H 9 months!!! I hope your supply doesn't suffer and you can tandem nurse. That's something I hope I get to do when I get PG and have the baby.
