Hello. I have been a lurker on this board and pretty active on the TTC board. I am BFing my 24 mo DD about 3-4 times a day. We are TTC #2. At the end of May, my doctor had me do one month of BCPs to see if that would jumpstart my cycles, since I hadn't had PPAF yet. I had a withdrawal bleed - 7/14.

I have read the helpful hints and many of your posts about what you've done to bring your fertility back.

I would love to hear what you have noticed about your first O cycle PP. Did you know definitevly that you were about to O, or did you get surprised?

What would you say is the most important clue - CM? BBT? OPKs?

I have had super low temps (for me) the last few days.... Other than yesterday, but I believe that is due to DD having a cold and neither of us getting much sleep. I have been taking prenatals, Triple Omega, and drinking red rasp tea.

Lastly, does anyone see anything about my chart that might indicate O is finally coming?

Thank you so much!

Alyssa

Hi Alyssa and welcome to our board :)

For me, my first 2 cycles or so after number 1 was born (at 16 months PP) were annovulatory. I was using my CB Fertility monitor and got a Peak on it one day - and very light, barely there, pink spotting when wiping about 5 days later. The next cycle was probably about the same. After that we started getting more regular and by 22 months PP, I was pregnant with #2. I think that rather then CM or CP or anything, my monitor and OPK's (yes I used both!) were invaluable.

When TTC #2 I got my cycles back much sooner - at around 5 months PP but they were all over the place for a long time - very long, short LP etc. My CM was terrible -almost nonexistent. Once again my monitor was a wonderful tool. OPK's don't work for everyone but they did always catch the surge for me. Now getting pregnant was another story and journey for me but I was for sure O'ing on a regular basis etc.
Did I answer your question lol? It is late - I am tired :)

Your chart looks like a typical breastfeeding chart to me - very up and down. On a good note, now that you are charting things, once something starts to happen with your body and O'ing, it will likely become very clear.

HTH and hope you join us until you get that BFP.

Welcome back Alyssa!

I would maybe add some b6/b complex to your supplement mix.

I got ppaf with 2 anovulatory cycles before my fertility came back, so I was watching carefully for o. My cm was all over the place, so opk's were invaluable.

Alyssa,

I agree with Sunday on the opk thing. You temps will only tell you after you O....and if you want to know about the first eggie, you need to catch your surge with opk's. Your temps going down a bit might mean O is coming....but it might not, too. Patches of CM might mean your body is trying to O....or it might mean it's a gear up and you'll try again soon. OPK's will tell you if it's the real deal.

As for knowing.......I have six kids and I've had every scenario. I've had times when I had good warning signs for weeks ahead of time. The opk told when it was the real deal. I had one child where I wasn't even charting yet.......just got cramps one day and had an expired opk in the pantry...I took it, it was positive...and I caught that egg. NOW.......this last time....I had MONTHS of cramps, bloating, acne, sore bb's, ewcm patches, etc....before ppaf. In fact I have 284 negative opk's before my finally positive one. All that to say, you might have a clue.....might not.

OPK's are cheap on e-bay. I did once a day....twice if I saw a really good line. I would also be sure to keep a good BD schedule during the patches of ewcm......just in case until then!

Good luck! Waiting for ppaf ain't for sissies. It's hard!

Thank you so much for the info ladies! I would LOVE to catch the first eggie!

I am going to order some OPKs and also pick some up to get me by until they arrive.

We are going camping this weekend, but after that I am going to try to get to know this board a little better!

Thank you for the warm welcome and for all of the great advice!
