Hello again - I am back from our little end of summer holiday and ready to reply!
I think that we are all so different when it comes to cycles returning and how they are for the first little while. I can tell you that I got my PPAF after baby #1 at about 16 months PP with a little help from vitex, and some vitamins, and time and patience ;) DS#2 was conceived when #1 was 22 months old. My cycles were anovulatory at first (just spotting more then anything else) and after about 2 cycles started regulating. After #2 was born, I got PPAF much faster (12 weeks) but it took up to a year for it to get back to normal - my cycles were super long (40 + days) and my LP way too short. It was frustrating but there was not much I could do about it that early on.
I think the average for most women to see AF back is about 14 - 16 months but of course there is a wide range of experience here on this board.
Definitely check out our TTC Fact Sheet in the folder below and see if you have anymore questions. Do you have experience with temping and charting your cycles? Most of us do that here and it is very helpful to figure out what your body is doing and when you are O'ing etc. We also like to use OPK's to watch for those pre O signs.....
There are some things you can take to try and get AF back including vitex (also called chaste berry or agnus cactus) , vitamin b complex , calcium/magnesium supplements, raspberry leaf tea among others.....
Thanks for joining us and apologies again for my delay in replying....it is a little slow around here right now with summer and some recent BFP's and a few frustrated mamas!

my dd turned one on Aug 19, is still bf and I am ttc#2 as well. I still bf often however started back at work which has caused us to force wean during the day and I've noticed a drop in my supply. When I'm home I breastfeed on cue and still night bf. I am on my second cycle pp and it's not normal yet. I am hopeful that I can get my BFP while breastfeeding.
