Blood test positive - but low
Tue, 08-10-2010 - 11:52am

Blood test positive - but nurse said we should be cautiously optimistic - my number yesterday was 39 and they usually like to see a 50. Go back tomorrow for a repeat blood test.....and viability ultrasound scheduled for early September.....

Oh god - another 24 + hours of this craziness.....

But for now - Happy me - Scared me - nervous me ! WOW :)

Hugs, Jasmine

Oh Jasmine,
Why can't it just be a straight-up happy moment for you. I'd like to strangle that nurse (who almost certainly wasn't a nurse at all, by the way). First of all, I'm thinking that all your dpt,3dt stuff adds up to about 12 dpo when you got the beta drawn, right? And 39 is enough to light up a FRER with a solid good line. And, on 13 dpo, with DD, I got a possible squinty line on a FRER, and didn't get a decent line until 14 dpo. Granted, it does get in the blood sooner than the urine, BUT, everyone metabolizes everything differently.
Did the nurse give you the range? Because, looking online, it looks like as low as 18 can be normal for up to 5 weeks dpo. Don't you dare google and scare yourself, though!! I have always read that the more important thing is the doubling.

Regardless of all that

Dude, you're pregnant!!!!!!! Now, stick and double those numbers

Oh, yeah!!!!!! Congratulations, hon!

Please try not to worry. Sunday is right...the initial number is not what's important. Hopefully, tomorrow will give you some peace of mind.

Congratulations, again! Just amazing!
