Wow!  I just got a notice from our health insurance company- the new insurance laws that went into effect recently regarding women's health cover breast pumps!  How great for working mommas who might struggle to purchase one- they sure are pricey!  According to the notice I received, I could purchase one at a participating pharmacy (basically any pharmacy in my area) and submit a claim and it would be 100% covered.  What a great step towards preventative care since research shows BF babies are on a whole, healther in the long run.

Hopefully it will mean more mommas who want to will be able to BF.  :smileyhappy:

That is really cool. I rented one from a hospital here and the cost really clocked up after a few months. I had an issue with one breast and DS couldn't latch onto it for over a month. Pumping was the only thing that kept my milk supply going. I eventually bought a medela swing and sent the hospital one back. It's great that they are covered on your insurance now. It's great when the powers that be make good decisions like this!
