Your doctor will give you either Provera or Prometrium. It'll be either for 5 or 10 days. You should get a withdrawal bleed (AF) a few days after your last pill. This will put you on CD1. Unless you're like me, waiting 8 days after the last pill and no af. But usually I got AF 3ish days after my last pill.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the steroids played havoc with your hormones this cycle which might have caused no O.

And because you had the CM dry up I would be curious if you temped now if there would be a rise... maybe not but I'd be curious.

I was on Provera multiple times to jump start my cycles. It tricks your body into thinking you ovulated (it's progesterone) and so when you stop, AF starts.

Best of luck!

I am so very tired right now but wanted to send you a hug and hope you get some answers soon my friend. You very much deserve a break in the form of a BFP.
I have no coherent answers for you tonight but know that I read your post and am thinking of you.

Thanks guys. I saw an OB/GYN yesterday (I typically see my midwives, but they transfered me over to their partner ob's). He said all looks normal and was all statistical talking about something like 97% of cycles are normal for you blahblah so that random 3% will maybe be anovulatory, early or real late ovulation etc. He seemed not too concerend with the long cycle. He gave me provera (which I'll pick up tonight). and I'm supposed to get some sort of scan (which I can't think of the name of offhand) a week after AF. The scan is to see if the fallopian tubes are blocked. Then I'll have another appointment with him soon after. Hopefully no blockage and I'll start clomid. When in your cycle do you start clomid? I'm supposed to get the scan done sometime in the week after CD 7 and usually ovulate about CD 20.

I was however, quite impressed by the optimisim the doctor had about this cycle... looking at my bloodwork dates he sketched out various cycles that could explain ovulation and pregnancy achievment that would be pretty much explained and fitting into the bloodwork levels. Lol. I appreciated that - although I did POAS and neg. lol. Also... we didn't really DTD enough in this cycle for any of those other options to be plausable. Good to be optimistic though...

For those who have used provera before... are there any crazy side effects I should know about? (they warn you about everyhing possible in those sheets from the pharmacy)... but what really will bother me?

Ready for a new cycle. And we're hopefully going to have DH re-do his sperm test. (insurance won't pay for it... hopefully we have the extra cash on hand to do that soon).

I took provera and had no problems. The only side effects were very similar to those in the 2ww-like sore bbs. I think you are waiting on an HSG. My RE said you can have that done while on provera and get your clomid/femara for the cycle immediately afterwards. I would see if you could have the HSG sooner so you can start clomid this next cycle...but that's me, impatient!

The HSG is scheduled for CD7-9 to be sure you're not preggo as it would end a pregnancy. They shoot dye through your tubes to check for blockages while doing scans (xrays? I forget).

A plus to a HSG if all is clear as they are known to literally "clear things out" and frequently odds are better to get preggo after (we did!).

I took clomid CD 5-9. Only Provera side effect I had was PMSy... which makes sense since that's the part of your cycle it is imitating.

Best of luck! Great to have an OB that really slows down to explain everything and puts a great plan in place!

CD 49 and nothing...

Finished the prescrip for provera three days ago.

I'm annoyed at all this.

My co-worker gave me an excellent suggestion the other day, "tell Wally to get fired from his job, and then you should quit yours... then you'll surely get pregnant, when you know it'd be a terrible time to be!"

lol. Maybe that'd work... but we're pretty broke as it is... lol.

I can so relate to that horrible wait between finishing Provera and AF beginning.

I hope you don't have to wait much longer - how frustrating!
