Conceiving twins while BF

I have read in a few places that BF increases your chances of conceiving twins by 9 times. If that was true you'd have a 12% chance of conceiving twins if you manage to get a BFP while BF. It seems a bit far fetched to me. I thought there may be an increased chance so I googled it. But I wasn't expecting a 9 times greater chance. Are there any mummies on here who've conceived twins while BF?

I'd love to have twins. I'd say it's very intense in the beginning but I guess you find a way to cope. My Mum is a monozygotal twin. They have an amazing lifelong bond. I think it's only fraternal twins that are hereditary. Are twins in your family line Mommie2Corbin or do you put it down to nursing?

I have heard that too but no luck on that front with me :) I do believe we had one grad from last year that conceived twins while nursing.
Very interesting - I don't really understand why it would increase the chance but cool all the same. That combined with being almost 40 should really up my odds but considering that we did IVF last time and put 2 embryos back that resulted in our happy singleton baby, I doubt twins are in the cards for us.
