I want to THANK all of you! Without the collective knowledge of this board I am sure it wouldn't have happened. I learned so much in the "stalking" months before I posted that we were trying.
I actually did 3 HPTs because I thought for sure the first box (with 2 in it) must be somehow broken. Today I left a sample with the lab to confirm for the Dr. I won't know how far along we are until after we have an ultrasound... it is a strange feeling to have no idea.
I have absolutely NO pregnancy symptoms. I would actually prefer to have some symptoms just as a comfort that things are still cooking.
Again, THANK-YOU!
I forgot to post background info.
DS is 7 months today. At 5 months we introduced rice cereal and around that time he started sleeping 5-8 hrs a night. At 5.5 months we started introducing veggies/fruits/meats and now he eats when we eat (3 times a day). What I really think did it was pumping and afternoon weaning at 6 months. I am gifted in the milk department so just before bedtime routine I pump 8 ounces and then nurse (8pm). This way he goes to bed with hind-milk in his tummy and sleeps longer. I nurse in the morning (5am) and then for the rest of the morning (9am & 11am - 4 oz each) he receives what I pumped the night before. In the afternoon he receives formula (2pm & 5pm - 8 oz each). In the end it works out that essentially we are only nursing twice a day (8pm & 5am).
When I find out how far along we are that will us a better idea what we actually did worked.
We did very little BDing because DH works shift work and we are renovating so DS and I have been spending a lot of time visiting out of town family just to stay out of the way of contractors.
First LO: First Try!

Dawn, you are so right! April 22 (my Mom's b'day).
It was a horrible experience! The ultrasound tech was rude and inappropriate. She gave me a condescending lecture on how breastfeeding is not an appropriate form of birth control... I politely informed her that I knew that and that is why we had been trying for a couple months. When she couldn't see much (because I am just under 6 weeks) she started ranting about how it is a waste to book appointments that early because there is nothing to see.... I live in Canada; I can not book appointments even if I wanted to, my Dr has to do it for me. For something that is supposed to be a positive experience I left feeling very hurt and angry.
I just got off the phone with her manager. I feel better. Hopefully she is more professional in the future. I can't imagine how crushed someone would have felt if the pregnancy was unplanned and she treated them the same way.
Back to happy baby thoughts. Good luck to ALL OF YOU!
Hey :( I am sorry that that woman was so rude and condescending to you - way to take the shine off of your excitement. I am very glad you phoned and complained.
I am in Canada too - it is not just that easy to schedule your own ultrasound as any of us here know!
I do hope your next U/S is more positive and you see that lovely heartbeat! Our due dates are only 2 days apart - I am due April 20 and first scan is next Friday - CAN. NOT. WAIT!!!!!!
Hugs, Jasmine
Congrats ladies!!
