Okay so I want you to revisit my post when you first thought you had a BFP a week or so ago! lol - I warned you then about the next battle you would have. Unless you have a problem with preterm labour, I am fairly confident that you don't need to wean in order to carry a healthy pregnancy and no, it won't take nutrients away from your growing baby. Most doctors are very ignorant about BF'ing - I nursed while pregnant for almost 5 months....and there are many of us on this board that have. Maybe check out the Extended BF'ing board on Ivillage for some more support if you need it. I have to run but will be back later if you need more info or help. Oh and try Kellymom.com for more info. too.
Unless you want to wean and it becomes too much or uncomfortable, it is not necessary from everything I have read.
Hugs, Jasmine
p.s. My midwife was aware I was nursing while pregnant and she fully supported me.
Hugs!

Sometimes I think they just have knee-jerk reactions! You should be fine, just make sure you are getting enough calories for your nursling and the new baby. Your body will tell you if it is too much. Kellymom.com is awesome, LaLeche League is great and here's a link to a mom blog who is currently doing it: http://mommynewsblog.com/nursing-through-pregnancy-an-unexpected-bonus/
