I am nursing my son who turned 2 at the beginning of August. We began ttc two months ago, but af hasn't showed in the two months I have been off bc (mirena). My ds nurses veryfrequently and we are doing child led weaning so i am happy to find thisboard! I am hoping to get pregnant soon and would love to tandem nurse if it works out that way. I am looking forward to reading and posting here!

Good luck! It can certainly happen, plenty of mommas prove that here, myself included!

Hi there :smileyhappy: Welcome to our board and congrats on nursing your little one for so long! I am sure that if you give your body a few more months to figure it out and regulate after being on the pill, you will start cycling again very soon. We have some really wonderful ladies on this board and you really will find great advice, friendship, and support here.
I hope AF finds you soon - and you send her on her way again right after!

Thank you! I am hoping things start happening soon. I had an IUD and had no AF since having my son. It's wouldn't be so frustrating if I would at least get AF back, but I know these things take time! Thank you for the welcome!

Welcome to our board!  The delay in return of AF may just be due to residual hormones left in your body from the Mirena.  Hopefully it will all even out again soon.  Maybe you could ask your doctor how long it normally takes for things to get back to normal. It is also possible that your breastfeeding is hindering return of AF.  Either way you may just have to wait a little longer.  I'm sure everything will settle down soon and your body will start cycling again.  In the mean time read some of the grad stories to keep yourself positive that it is definitely possible to get pregnant while breastfeeding.  I'm 6 weeks pregnant myself and still feed 2-3 times a day.  Fingers crossed x

Aw congratulations! I guess i am expecting a repeat of when ds was conceived and i got pg on the first egg after my first mirena was removed and got bfp 29 days after removal. But i know that things don't happen the same way everytime! I think my dr would be un helpful and encourage me to wean ( not an option). Needless to say i will be changing providers next baby. I guess a call wouldn't hurt but i feel like my concerns are dismissed when talking to my ob. Anyway, congratulations and thank you!
