I'm wondering this too! I got a BFP yesterday and still haven't told DH. Part of me is waiting for the right moment and part of me is trying to think of a cute way to do it. I want to get DD a "Big Sister" shirt to wear, but I'm not sure DH is observant enough to get such subtlety. LOL!

I used Christmas and put an ultrasound picture in a Christmas card. It was an early present. :)

Well one time I put the HPT in a little stocking and gave it to him a few weeks before Christmas (that was our August baby). The other times I just blurted it out - especially after our IVF pregnancy - no time for being cute for me - just too happy to share to anyone who would listen lol!
Let us know how you decide to do it - and a big congrats to you :) I am so jealous of you BFP mamas right now and yours came really fast this time - NICE!

thanks for the ideas ladies! would have been great if I got that BFP on xmas morning! but I'm not complaining ;) still so surprised and cautious...DH asked about how things were going this cycle a few days ago and I told him the internet tests were inconclusive and I would let him know when I knew something, so he wont be tototally surprised but still haven't thought up anything too cutesy...the first time I shouted it through the door while he was in the bathroom (as in on the toilet!!!) so anything will be better than that! :)

I ended up going with the "Big Sister" shirt idea.

Yesterday morning, I took DD with me to "run an errand (i.e. pick up a shirt)." After her afternoon nap and lunch, DH and I were going to go out and get coffee. DD needed a diaper change before we left so I took the opportunity to head upstairs and change her into her shirt. When we got back downstairs, I set her down and told her to go and let Daddy help her put her shoes on. He saw her shirt right away but didn't get it. LOL He was like, "Big Sister? What the heck is that about?" I told him, "Lily is going to be a big sister." He got this shocked expression and started stammering--was I sure, was it for real, etc. Then, the most classic words came out. He said, "How do we know it's a sister?" LMBO!!! He was so shocked, poor thing. I told him we know because Lily is a girl. LOL!

Anyway, he's ecstatic--maybe even more so than with DD. I think he's looking forward to my first prenatal more than I am!

That's so funny! You need to write that down in the baby book, that's a classic :)

I like the t-shirt idea. If we get a BFP this cycle I'm hoping to suprise DH on Valentine's day. The best idea I've had so far is to make some cookies or chocolate hearts and label them, one for mummy, one for daddy, one for DD1, one for DD2 and one for baby! Lay them all out on a plate together and see if he gets it! I don't know how we will tell the rest of our family yet but for our friends I'm going to change my profile picture on facebook to "I'm pregnant, we are expecting a baby" see who notices it first ;)
