Ok, so I had my first PP pap test today. I saw someone new, a CRNP, which is fine, I am not a big fan of Drs. anyway. My DH and I are TTC baby #2 since I just got my 1st

I think I'd go for a second opinion.

Well my midwives in the practice had also said a year but this lady made me seem like an over-eager nut for wanting #2 already!

hi :) I have heard that 2 years between pregnancies is optimal for a woman's body health - csection or not - am pretty sure my midwife among other sources have told me that......having said that, lots of women keep them much closer together without ill effect so really I think you have to listen to your own body and know what you are ready for. I have 3 children and all are over 2 years apart - partly by choice and mainly by circumstance - it worked well for my family and I wonder sometimes why everybody seems to want their little ones so close together - but again, that is a matter of personal choice and opinion. I would listen to the medical advice re: your c-section scar but beyond that, really it doesn't matter if they think you are crazy or not. If you feel ready that I say go for it :)

I was also told not to attempt anything in the way of TTC while my son was nursing AT ALL!!! He needs to be completely weaned before my body cn handle being pregnant again! Not me in particular, me and all other nursing moms, according to her!!! OOHHH I am still crazy upset about all this!!!

Well that is completely ridiculous and misinformed and ignorant. I got a lot of that while TTC and even more when I was pregnant and still nursing.....so irritating!

That's really odd. We don't use any form of birth control either (also for religious reasons). My ob/gyn knows this and has never told me anything about waiting or anything. He's a pretty strong Catholic, himself, so maybe he has a different perspective than most in the field. The only time he told us to "be careful" was when I was going to have surgery to remove, what he thought might be, a ovarian cyst (turned out to be a renegade fibriod. . . long story) and he wanted to make sure I wasn't pregnant before the surgery.
I'm so sorry! I'd be upset too!

What a bunch of hooey!

I have heard 6 months to a year is standard for C-sections, depending on the doctor.
