Has anyone ever used somthing called Lady-Q it is supposed to predict a womans "fertile" days or ovulation by means of saliva. You place a small amout of saliva on the glass, and look into the microscope to see if it "ferns" . Anyone heard of this or try this?

I purchased one on ebay, and hoping to try it. BTW how common is it to ovulate without a period?? I'am EBF my 3 month old and dont expect a period for at least 4 more months. just thought I would ask.

Any info would be helpful

TIA

Well, I haven't actually used the ferning technique, but as I understand it, it works like OPKs by detecting the LH surge shortly before O so that BD can be timed appropriately.

As for Oing w/out a period, that doesn't happen. If you O, you have AF. So, w/out AF you are not Oing. Now you may or may not O before PPAF, it just depends. We have had a few grads here who have caught the 1st egg before PPAF. So it is possible.

Go girl! Trying for #6 is awesome. I will soon be working on #5. I have used a saliva type test. I did see the ferning effect quite well. It is useful but I always took my temperature too in order to be sure that ovulation did occur. Sometimes I saw the fern pattern when I wasn't ovulating. It has been awhile since I used it so I don't remember how often I saw a false result. Mostly though it was pretty helpful.

Thank you Sharon,

I have tried it but not seen anything on yet, I just dont think I'am ovulating yet. Its so nice to hear of someone else who is working on a "larger" family. I just love hearing it :)
