New Year Check in!
8
Sun, 01-29-2012 - 4:40pm

Okay ladies - I am woefully neglectful in doing any roll calls for awhile - so please check in and tell us some details - we have some new members on the board, some grads hanging out, some long time gals who need our baby dust and surely some lurkers who just haven't jumped in......

Name: Jade

Age: 37 (my granny had menopause at 37)

Children: One. DS 15.5 months.

We would like three children. DH agrees.

AF came back this cycle (15 months PP)

Herbs: I started Vitex in December. Also Red Radpberry Leaf. I have been taking Pregnacare Plus Multivitamins and Omegas since before my first pregnancy. Occasionally take Evening Primrose Oil.

Recently night weaned and actively trying to reduce nursing to help fertility return. Terrified of the early menopause possibility but love nursing my DS! Trying to get the balance right!

I am Irish, living in Sweden. I'm a fulltime Mum now. Graphic Artist. Would-be foodie. POAS addict. I have a great DH but hugely miss my family. Happy to have found other BFing and TTC mummies!

Name: Deb

Age: 41

Children/nurslings: One son, age 4. Nursed him till age 3.

How many babes would you ultimately like to have? 3, we're hopeful but our age may preclude that. Twins would be great!

Does DH agree?

Please note - I am the CL of the board and actually not TTC while BF'ing (right now) but I have 2 times in the past and have a lot of experience temping and charting and peeing on sticks and obsessing and torturing myself while doing so......so I thought I would fill in my check in sheet anyways, even if my answers aren't that helpful to you who are in fact TTC :)

Name: Jasmine

Age: (If you are feeling like sharing) 39 but turning 40 next month!!!!!!! I am in amazed that I could be 40 years old already but kind of excited - lots of my girlfriends and I are celebrating our 40th this year and I am the most content I have ever been :)

Children/nurslings: Age etc. DS#1 is 7 years old this week, DS#2 is 4 years old, and baby girl is 10 months old!!!!!

How many babes would you ultimately like to have? Does DH agree?
We are actually not TTC right now. DH says he is done, done, done and I am struggling with this some days, and other days not so much. I think about having "just one more" every single day and I am so jealous of BFP's and baby bumps, but I think I will always be like that even when I am really old.....I love being pregnant and giving birth so very much it is hard to think about not doing that again. Am hoping that DH will change his mind but other days, when I am overwhelmed with my 3, I think it is all good to stop where we are at, take a step back, and appreciate how good my life is and how lucky we are to have what we have been blessed with! Oh and I am also finding that the emotional needs of a 7 year old and 4 year old are quite consuming - we are very busy these days!!! They need there mama to be present and not obsessing about things that are not under my control - so I am working on being zen about it all - and not so greedy lol :)

Do have AF back and if so when did she arrive?
I thought I got AF back at about 8 weeks PP - but have had no sign of her again - it is nice nursing little miss as much as she wants to without having to try and limit things to get AF back. It is quite a different experience after worrying so much with the boys. I do have lots of patches of what seems like fertile CM so who knows....I would be lying if I said I wasn't hoping for a "Surprise" you O'd and oops there is a BFP lol :)
What are you doing (herbs, vitamins, OPK's) to help with the TTC process:
Nothing of course! It is nice to nurse without borders :)

Share a bit about yourself (hobbies, job, plans for the New Year etc.)
I am just living the life of a full on Soccer mama - walking kids to school, packing lunches, picking up from school, volunteering with school stuff, soccer practice/games, hockey practices, baseball starts up soon - I have very sporty little boys :) Between all that I have decided to spend as much time as possible snuggling my baby and napping with her when I can and doing my housework late at night or whenever....that sink full of dishes can wait until tomorrow!

Oh I do remember how fun it was to be preggo with #3! (and 1 and 2 or course) but the "last" one was pretty special too in its own way :) I admire how patient you were while waiting to get that BFP - that is the one thing most of us usually lacks. Way to show us the way and congrats mama! So happy for you :)

Hi Jade :) We are so glad you decided to join us and I do agree that 3 is a lovely number! I hope very much for you that you get that BFP very soon and that your granny's genetics are not yours with regards to fertility. It must be so hard living away from your family and oh how I love Ireland! My hubby is from there and when we first got engaged he took me to a family wedding there to meet at least 60 of his relatives - it was quite overwhelming but so fun. The funny thing is that my boyfriend before that was Irish too and I went to visit him in Galway many times before that so all my DH's family was all "oh is this your first time here" and I had to say not really - and my DH's name is the same as ex boyfriends.
Okay enough rambling from me - Let's get that AF back for you and then promptly send her away again for 9 months :)

Hi Deb :) I am soooo glad you still check in with us and are persevering with your dreams on having another baby. I admire your patience and continued faith that it will happen - and you never complain to us!!!! I know that it will pay off and each month when I stalk your chart, I hope and hope and hope it is your turn. You are awesome and I am excited for that day when I see + and put you in the grad section.
Hugs, Jasmine
