I was wondering if I could use wild yam cream to bring on PPAF and then try soy isoflavones to get things going. Anyone try this? I'm currently nursing my 11.5 month DD anout 4-5 times per day. My intro is in the intro section.

So true - remember the first time you had to inject yourself?!!? My hands were shaking....and all those little bottles lined up.....I was always so worried that I was not mixing them right with the saline. I had to bring my needles and meds to my high school reunion dinner once - felt kind of weird shooting up in the bathroom lol!

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the wild yam and soy isofavones. Hoping to not have to use too many drugs this time as last time with doing IVF I felt like a walking pharmacy. At least I can laugh about it now:)

I have done both. With the cream or wild yam capsules, I have found you need to use quite a bit, like three times the dosage on the bottle in order to start AF. Usually the dosage three times a day for at least 5 days.

I have had good luck with soy isoflavones too. Can't remember the dosage though. I used wild yam and soy before going to the stronger pharmaceuticals, they act in the same way just not as strong of an affect.

Thanks ladies. I have a good friend who is a naturopath. She came to my home in the middle of a snowstorm to do acunpuncture to start labour (DD was 8 days overdue and with IVF they are super cautious so I was facing an induction). Anyways, less then 12 hours later and I delivered my daughter without any meds!!!! I'm gonna check with her. I helped her with her meds for IVF as she did it as well and now has a 4month DD.I'll let you know what she says!

I have used provera to get things started when they stalled out or I got a very long cycle. I am not sure yam cream would be strong enough but it might be if your body is ready and just needs a little push! I have used it to lengthen my lp after ovulation. Hope you see AF soon.

I have never tried those but will be curious to hear from some others. I always wanted to try the yam cream but it is not over the counter in Canada. Jeska - any thoughts ?

Hi There,

I didn't, but I do seem to remember other mommas here talkin' about it. I remember a whole thread on Isoflavones... at least I think I do. You might try searchin' the forums to see if ya can find it while waitin' for other mommas to chime in.

Best of luck!
