Prometrium or Progesterone Cream?
Mon, 05-16-2011 - 11:27am

This is the first month I have in my possession preogesterone cream (which I ordered off the internet) and a filled out prescription for Prometrium (vaginal progesterone supplements).

When we were looking to jump start I asked about cream vs Provera (similar to prometrium). Our OB said the cream was unreliable. You wouldn't be sure how much your body was actually metabolizing. So for us, we felt more comfortable knowing how much we were putting in by taking the Provera. But that was us... as annoying as your hubby's answer is, the best choice is the one that is right for you! :)

I would use the prometrium even though it is a pain and kind of messy. That is what I was given after my IUI's and IVF cycle for progesterone support - I think it would be a more guaranteed amount of prog. going into your system.
Just my opinion - let us know what you decide and good luck! I hope it works for you :)

Thanks ladies!

I am doing the supplementation, but haven't noticed too huge of a difference yet. My body seems to be firm in holding its luteal phase! I'm gonna use the suppositories, I think. I have enough to last the next few cycles. I think I am ovulating as I write this, so here's to hoping! (And praying!) :)
