So sad today :(

A close friend was coming to town next week to meet her newborn niece who was due this week. I found out yesterday that the little girl passed away during labour :( It is just so devastating to hear this - it was their first child and one they were told they would likely never conceive. I don't know what happened but something went wrong during her labour.

Thanks Mama L. It was a terrible shock and I have spent many days just imagining the pain for how they must feel.....it is not something anyone should ever have to know :smileysad: Now wipe these thoughts from your mind and focus on baking that sweet little one in your belly. Love to you :smileyhappy: Jasmine

Thank you for your kind thoughts. It is awful to hear from these replies from everyone, just how often these terrible things can happen. I think when I was pregnant with baby girl that I was secretly terrified that something would go wrong and I would never get my little sweetie. It would be so damn awful to get to 40 weeks and be ready to meet your baby and have to say goodbye instead. I am very sorry for your cousin's and family's loss :smileysad: Hugs, Jasmine

Thanks so much. It will be a long road I am sure - very glad they have close family to help them through. So unfair.....

Thanks Em - It was just so shocking and although I am not super close with them, I am so sad that they lost their little girl just when her life was beginning. The pain must be unbearable some days. I am so sorry for your friend - I think stories like that really do profoundly change us in so many ways. Hugs, Jasmine

Thanks Jeska - I know you know this pain all to well :smileysad: I am sorry that you had to experience it with your niece too. All of this is another reminder to me to be so grateful for the children I have. Hugs to you, Jasmine

So sad to hear that Jasmine. My niece died during labor shortly after youngest DS was born. It never makes sense when a baby dies. It just shouldn't happen. The pain is unreal, as a parent. Thoughts are with your friend.

This is just the worst. :( I'll be praying for you and them... my best friend's other best friend had a stillborn baby almost two years ago.... the baby was to be named after my friend... her death has changed me in ways I can't put to words. I'll keep them in my prayers!
