From what I've been told from our public health nurses and breastfeeding programs here, the breastfeeding birth contorl method is 92% effective only during the first 6 months PP. So my bet is it may be your first PPAF arriving. I normally have a heavy flow, but my first PPAF was light and short. Hope this helps.

Hello and welcome :) I think that it could be either implantation spotting of the beginnings of AF and only a HPT test will tell you for sure! It is more likely in my mind that it is just your body getting back into the swing of things - after DS#2 was born I got similar spotting at around 5 months PP - it took another 4 or 5 months for me to start O'ing again and getting AF each month - and even then my cycles were super long and unreliable. If your body is trying to start O'ing again, you might have just experience an anovulatory bleed which its attempt to O but not quite making it.
As for being pregnant, you should definitely give it another week or so and test to be sure.......symptoms of being pregnant while nursing are pretty much the same as when not nursing but I have heard that many women experience a drop in their supply or perhaps the milk tasting different so baby won't nurse as much or is fussy at feeding time.
After 6 months PP, I think you are supposed to consider yourself possibly fertile as nursing is more spread out and/or solids are being introduced etc.
Let us know what happens :)
