Temping questions...
Sun, 10-24-2010 - 9:14pm
Hi Ladies!! I have a few questions about temping. I was doing it a few weeks ago but I quit because it looked too rocky...then last week my first PPAF arrived ( it was so nice to have a light 3 day period instead of the 10 days of HEAVY bleeding I was used to before I had LO). Any how, I figure it's a good idea to chart again since Im sure my periods will not be regular so quick after getting my first PPAF. This brings me to my questions 1. I dont get good solid blocks of sleep. Im usually up at least once during the night and wake more often closer to morning. 2. I sleep with an electric blanket and Im pretty sure I read this may effect things..... So should I bother trying to chart or will it not work well with these two factors?

Hi there, the nighttime awakenings shouldn't really effect your ability to see the regular bi-phasic pattern of a cycle - that is, if you're ovulating. If you're not ovulating, then you'll continue to see the peaks and valleys that you mention. I just read a post at the www.FertilityFlower.com blog about charting PP and it mentioned that that would be the case and that within a cycle or two, the pattern would become more normal looking. My guess is that the heating blanket will raise your temps to a new 'normal' but that you'd still be able to see a difference as you move through your cycle.

I would still chart. I am up some nights multiple times and a pattern can usually be seen on my charts. With the electric blanket I would just make sure that it is close to the same every evening so as PP said it becomes your normal temps.
