how do you get them to stay put long enough to sleep? lol...
it's been a couple weeks since we moved Allie to the toddler bed (she's 3) and it seems like at least 30% of the time it takes us more than half an hour (sometimes MUCH more than that) to get her to stay put in her bed long enough to fall asleep. She's never had troubles going to bed before. Still takes an afternoon nap (when she'll stay in bed)....

AHH lol. I'm going crazy here. Ok I guess maybe I just needed to vent there....

Vent away Mama :) I have no words of advice as we skipped toddler bed and went right from cosleeping to Queen size bed when DS was about 2 1/2 years old.
Good luck with the transition - I bet it gets better soon!

Can you just close her door and ask her to play quietly until she feels like getting in bed?

With all my kids basically I nursed them to sleep in the living room and then I transferred them to their toddler bed (or we have also used a crib mattress on the floor) until they were old enough to go to bed and stay there. Sometimes they just go in there and lay down and pass out on their own.
