Hi Ladies,

This is my first time on the board and I have a major question, that I thought this board might be able to help me with!

I have had a miscarriage just over two weeks ago and was seeing my doctor today. He told me that I should not continue breastfeeding if I wanted to TTC again, as this would increase my risk of miscarring again! This really made me fume as I am nowhere near ready to stop breastfeeding and I am not ready to wait to TTC either because I'm breastfeeding.

I didn't argue with him because I didn't do research on this and I don't know whether he is right, although in my heart I feel he is not! So, I'm hoping that some of you would know if this is true or not.

Many thanks in advance for any info!

First, please accept my sympathies for your loss.

As for bfing and pg, here's a good site that explains it better than I can:

Basically, unless it is a high-risk pg, bfing likely has no effect and your dr. was probably just giving you the "party-line" because it's easier than actually researching things further.
