I wondered if they can say you ovulated and you really haven't...I heard the only way to tell truley is by getting a post OPK signalling a lh surge then checking to see a bunch of high temps after is this true? My clear plan easy said high fertility 2 boxes today so I am wondering if I will really O none for quite somewhile now. I have no PPAF and have been temping so I will use the monitor and probably an OPK in the next few days I just wondered if you have a surge do you automatically have O soon after???? thanks Jenn

No, you won't necessarily O. The OPK detects the LH surge that preceeds O; sometimes, esp in BF women, we get the surge but don't quite achieve O. The only way to confirm O is by temping.

In my first few postpartum cycles, I did have more than one LH surge, only one of which was accompanied by a thermal shift (i.e., high temps) so only one of which was a real ovulation.

I have heard some women say that as your body tries to gear up for ovulation after not having one for so long that sometimes it tries a couple times before it's successful.

I don't know if this helps but hopefully this is a sign that your body is TRYING to O even if today isn't the precise day of it. Three days of high temps should confirm it. GL!
