Hi my name is Paige and I am new to this board. I am trying to Conceive #3 and have a couple of questions.

I am still breastfeeding my almost 14 month old DS about 3-4 times during the day and a couple times at night (we cosleep). I have had one PP AF on September 19th. So it has been 65 days since my last AF. We just started trying this past weekend. I think I might have ovulated last week because I had a lot of EWCM and mild cramping, I am not quite sure though.

Can I chart even though I haven't had an period in two months? Do I start on cycle day 1 or cycle day 65?

With both my DS's it only took one month to conceive. I was nursing the same amount with DS#1 and my period came back after 7 months regularly. It is frustrating that this cycle has been so long.I just want to get my period so I can start charting from cycle day one so my chart is easier to understand.

Can I still get pregnant if I don't have my period for a couple more months?

Thanks for listening to me vent.

Hi Paige and Welcome :) I have a 15 month old and am TTC #3 too :) We also cosleep and nurse many times in a 24 hour period so you are very much not alone!! My cycles have been back for many many months now and have been erratic too - my last cycle was like 45 days or something and I was getting very frustrated. Have just O'd on Day 25 so will see what happens this time! As for charting, you totally can even with super long cycles - just get a free account on fertility friend and start plugging in your temps - once you see AF (or a BFP if you are really lucky!) it will reset to Day 1.

You might want to consider buying some cheap OPK's on line to use in conjunction with charting. I find they help take a lot of the questions out of the equation and so exciting when you see that line come up :)

How old are your other kids ?

Thanks Jasmine!

I have a 3 year old son and a one year old son. (38 months and 14 months)

How old are your little ones?

If you don't mind me asking, how many kids do you want?

For charting do I start putting my temps on cycle day one or cycle day 66 and leave all the other days before blank? I was thinking I should just wait until my next period to start charting, but who knows when that will be.

Thanks for the support.

Welcome! I have a 15 month old and am BFing about 5-6x a day and no nighttime feedings (unless we're away then it's anybody's guess as to how many times he'll nurse at night). I had erratic AF's too, I got mine back at 10 months PP. I've been told that your body does different things with each baby so it's ok if your AF doesn't come back when you got it back last time.

As for charting, have you been marking down your CM since your last AF? What about last week when you had EWCM? I'd mark down on fertility friend (or there's a chart on here that's easier for just charting CM I think both are free) but I'd mark down when I got my period and any information you can remember. So if you only can remember CM from last week (EW) I'd still write it down and go from there. Are you going to start temping? With that I'd remember that it's first thing in the morning, before you get up w/ a BBT and to do it you have to make sure it's at the same time (almost) each morning. For me, it was easier to just watch CM and just remember that whenever there's EWCM you are possibly fertile. As soon as your body gets more of a rhythm w/ AF you'll be able to tell when you are O'ing or when you are supposed to be O'ing. But hopefully you caught that egg on the first try since you've had such luck in the past!!!

GL and don't forget to post your chart!!!!
