OMG---I HATE THIS NEW SET-UP. The reason I picked this board over others is because of the set-up. It's going to SUCK trying to find someones post if they hide it in a response to someone else, and you can't type enough in the title. AHHHHHH! There are some cool things about it too, but I'm going to have to spend a lot of time (that I don't really have, you know) figuring it all out.

Anyway, I posted to americaninfertiltity.com and posted a question to a DR about my short luteal phase. She said nursing usually only affects luteal phase 'til the baby is one.

In every book I've read, your luteal phase should lengthen in a few months, but mine is still only 3 days and I'm on the 8th PP cycle. So, I guess I'll go get it checked out.

Wish me luck and pray I don't have a brain tumor, or thyroid tumor or whatever.

I also worry that my replys to someone will get lost. Right now I'm reading it quickly in the main view, just to get a feel for the board, then reading more on outline view, then clicking on the posts I want to read. It is cumbersome though!

GL to you!!!! Try to relax, it's probably not anything serious. I wonder about a pat answer like "it won't affect you after the baby is one"...seems a bit too general. I would think it would depend upon when your cycle resumed, and how often you are nursing? I don't quite get that answer. Anyway, I'm sure in your case it's nothing serious :), but good to get it checked out anyway! Especially because 3 days does seem very short.

I think that's a very strange answer. Like Heather said - it would depend on when your cycle resumed and how often you are nursing. I got mine back at 16 months PP, and my 6th cycle had a normal LP. But I do agree that a LP of 3 days sounds very short if you're at C8, even for breastfeeding.

I hope the doctor can help you out. I think it's oversimplification to say that the LP is only affected until the baby is one year, however (that might be based on stats that have a one year old nearly weaned, and I know my baby was still nursing a ton at age one). JMO

When I got pregnant while nursing, my OB told me she sees a lot of pregnancy loss due to low progesterone in the early weeks. I was already 8 weeks along when she said this, and she said most problems she sees occur before that time.

I hope your doctor can help you!
