Should I even bother testing?

I need some brutally honest opinions here. I told myself I would not get worked up about this cycle b/c of my BD timing, but here I am at 6 dpo itching to test.

What do you guys think of this timing:

We BD'd on Friday night. Saturday morning, I got a pos. opk, so we BD'd Saturday night, too. My temp. went up on Sunday (or so I thought), but I also got a truly BLARING opk on Sunday morning and all day Sunday (the true pos. opk). So Sunday night we tried, but no dice.

On Monday morning I had really good cramping from about 8-10 a.m. and then slight cramps on and off the rest of the day. We BD'd Monday night about 10 p.m.

I'm guessing I O'd on Monday morning? My temp. went up for real on Tuesday. Who knows if the worst cramping was actual O or slightly before or after, but that's my estimation.

So....BD on Friday and Saturday night, O on Monday morning and BD on Monday night. Not the best scenario. What do you guys think? Keep in mind, I'm 43, so I don't know if my eggs can hang around for 5 days! ; ) I sure wish I knew when that eggie popped!

How was your cm??

I think your timing was pretty good! Anyway it *could* have happened, you seem to have covered your bases. If you had some decent cm, you should have held on to the spermies long enough to catch the egg and you got in an insurance deposit monday night.

With that said, I still think you should wait another few days to test unless you see either a dip or a huge temp spike. I know it's exciting with the first O and everything, but the suspense will make that bfp so much more precious and the disappointment of an early bfn can be such a downer.

Good luck whatever you choose!

See, that's the thing. I did not have great CM this time, for whatever reason. So the 2 day before thing has me worried. I wish I knew when that eggie dropped on Monday.

As for testing.....testing early really helps me get ready for that bfn. I think it depends on your personality. Some would rather not see that many bfn's.

Well, instead of focusing on what you cannot change in the past (ie.. cm, bd timing, o timing.. and all that stuff), I guess it's time for you to move forward and start testing :O)

good luck!

Well I think your timing is not that bad - especially since you got a BD in on Sunday night.
I would however, recommend that you don't test for at least 3 more days. Just take that option out of your mind for a little bit - hard I know - but easier then staring at sticks so early in the game and see BFN's... Even if you timed it great, you need to wait.
I have high hopes for you this month Dee - try not to stress (yeah right!) and I am sending you +++++ vibes...

OH, Jasmine....but we didn't BD Sunday night. I know that would have been the best night......hubby tried, he really did. But it did not happen. Sigh......

Silly girl, of course you should test. That's just what you do.

What's the earliest you've gotten a bfp? Just curious.

BFP vibes!

Dee - I feel for you :( I hate it when we miss the night that I KNOW will best - it is hard on the DH's isn't it? We have those times when it just isn't going to happen - very frustrating for all involved.

BIg hugs, Jasmine

Dee, I am a lurker but had to comment here. There was a study done on which day of the cycle is most likely to result in a pregnancy, and it was 2 days before ovulation. Next came one day before ovulation and then 3 days before and the day of ovulation were tied. But the 2 days before and one day before are both better than ovulation day so you could be fine.
